This is the first summer with my David Austin roses. And recently I found a garden tote. What could be more perfect for my roses.
One of the reasons I love summer so much is my garden.Having access to fresh flowers is wonderful!
Love these roses and unfortunately it seems something else does too!
Some of my roses are being eaten by Japanese beetles!
I am trying to figure out what to use on these to distract the beetles but not kill my roses.
This post is not supposed to be about Japanese beetles.Let’s get back to the roses and this garden tote.
I found this recently at a thrift shop and knew I would have a use for it.
I really love the patina on this and I will not be painting it.
See I don’t paint everything….wink…wink.
These are my vintage blue ball jars.
I love this combination of the wood tote….the pink roses….and these blue jars.
I cannot believe summer break is almost over.My daughter heads back in a few weeks!
Enjoying the last weeks with my family.
If you follow me on facebook I will be unplugging a bit over the weekend.

Hi Anne, your thrift shop find is so cool. I would have snagged it up as well, yet not sure i wouldn’t have painted it but, I do love the honey stain on it. It’s such a primitive rustic country piece that makes a great piece of country folk art blend with your cottage feel. I love the height to it and is perfect for the mason jars, of course the roses finish the look!
About those Beatles were not talking about! I hope you get a grip on them, those rose are far to beautiful to let them take over. I have this girl friend who’s husband is all organic in gardening and Non-smokers they would get cigarettes and soak them over night or two in water to then strain off the liquid into a spray bottle this making an amazing bug spray, killing everything but the roses.
Perhaps you could google it and see if you find information on this type of spay.
Well enough bug talk, I am excited to here you have been featured and deservingly.
Thank you for taking the time to visit me and my White, it’s always a joy to see your comment.
Beautiful August to you, may it inspiré the best from you.
Xx

I hope you can find something to discourage those garden pests. I’ve got bugs eating holes in just about everything growing in my flower beds!
