When I revealed my master bedroom I was missing one piece of furniture,my new chippy side table.
Actually it is a vintage wash stand.
Over the summer I spotted this lovely piece at one of my favorite antique shop’s.
When I first saw this chippy table the first time I passed it up.
I did not have a spot for it and as much as I adored the chippy pink paint with this perfect aged patina I passed it up!
But when I decided to change things around in my bedroom I thought this would look perfectly.
Actually truth be told after reading and drooling over Rachel Ashwell’s book a light bulb went off in my head.
This washstand makes a wonderful side table.
I took the piece off that was used to hang hand towels.
It did not seem to work with my mirror on my wall and for now I want to keep that mirror as is.
But I do move things around often so this mirror may get moved and that piece could very well get attached back to this chippy side table.
I am always tickled when I come across a piece like this.
Finding pieces with original paint like this are hard to find and at a reasonable price.
This chippy paint is hard to duplicate.
I will admit that milk paint comes pretty darn close to achieving a chippy patina but there is nothing like the real thing!
These roses were bought a week ago.
Not sure what I did wrong but they have not opened up yet!
I am sure you noticed lots of changes on here on my blog.
Janel from NellieBellie helped me redesign my blog.
This time I had a plan and had her design something that really says white lace cottage.
If you are looking to change your blog Janel does a wonderful job!

Anne- Your blog looks just lovely!!! It is so fresh and sweet looking- really it does say White Lace to me now. She did a great job on the design. I love that chippy old piece. It reminds me of ones that were in the old homestead my cousins lived in. Great piece- xo Diana
You’ve found the perfect piece for next to your bed, Anne! I often do the same thing- walk away from something I like and go back later to get it when I can’t get it out of my mind. I agree that there’s nothing quite like an original chippy finish. You’ve found a gem!
It’s absolutely gorgeous! Great find!!
Love the chippy table. Great color and texture. I have my eye on a few tables for when the new room is done. I love finding just the right piece when you need it. Alaina

LOVE that new-to-you piece!!
I use my mother’s antique commode in the guest room between two iron twin beds as their “nightstand,” so I totally agree with you and Rachel (ha) about using that for that!!!
Well done, love it.
Just pinned this…LOVE it. So shabby and chippy and peaceful!
Yippee….pin away 🙂
The wash stand is perfect as a night stand, Anne. How fortunate that they still had it when you went back- I’m usually not that lucky. Your blog design is lovely. 🙂

Soft, subtle pastels that surround the reader with tranquility!
Your table (wash stand) is the “perfect” choice as a side table without the towel stand!
