My laundry room reveal.
My Laundry room was a challenge.I have been wanting to reveal the laundry room for some time but I was waiting for a few things to get done.
I don’t have any before photos to share.I don’t know why I did not take any.Probably because it was not an over night project but one that took me awhile to accomplish on a budget.
I have been sharing bits and pieces of changes like those lockers I found for 50.00 and painted. And that chicken feeder and dairy sign above my washer and dryer.
As you can see this room is a challenge. This is not only a laundry room but our entrance/mud room as well.
It is large but very narrow.
As much as I would love to change my sink, faucet and flooring it’s not in the budget for now.So you can say this was a mini makeover.
That little bench next to the lockers is the perfect size and is great for sitting on while putting on shoes.
The reproduction bread box stores our cat food.
Oh yes for the purposes of this room looking pretty I do have a disclaimer.
We have a cat which means we have a litter box, water fountain, and food dish. For pretty purposes I took these things out of the room.
And one more thing….this is my laundry room on a good day.Lets be realistic I live here, wash clothes this room does not I repeat does not look like these photos everyday.
But when company is over and well……you are my company.
I had that old wood door and just added that clip board art using an old photo of a farm house.Added those letter stickers I had on hand to spell out farm.
The other clip board photos were found in a book all about cows.I just cut them out glued them to the board and used a little antiquing medium to make them appear a bit aged.
That towel rack was found at a thrift shop a while ago.I knew I would find something to use it for.
I bet you are wondering well…where do you put your laundry soap, and cleaning supplies?
Well that is a good question.I do have some storage under the washer and dryer. But I knew I needed something more.
A few years ago I found a pie safe that I thought would work perfectly for that purpose.
And it does!
Love this pie safe and the wonderful patina. This piece will never be painted!
And you can see next to the pie safe I have my lamp base found at a thrift store. It works great for holding my bags and hats.
You can see I added chalkboard paint to my door.I have been wanting to share that with you all for awhile now.But just wanted this room to be finished.
I change the quotes and sayings all the time.It is so cheerful to have a happy quote to look at as you leave for the day.
The wood star was found at an antique store.I have been collecting silhouette’s of my daughter ever since we took her on her first trip to Disney. We just added a new one this year.So glad I have this special piece of art that shows how she has grown on each trip!
I don’t sew…yet.I would like to get a sewing machine so for now a glue gun is my best friend!
I found a curtain at a thrift store.I knew I would find a purpose for it.I really loved the color and the ruffles. And when I was thinking I needed a sink skirt for my sink I pulled out my curtain and glue gun and got to work.
You know me…I don’t measure….I just eyeballed the length and cut it to fit the sink.
Using my glue gun I glued on velcro. It did have some adhesive on it but I wanted it to be a little stronger.
I know I can’t wash this but the curtain fabric was only 2.00 and the velcro was 5.00 replacing it won’t break the bank.
That stool is replacing the spot of where our cat’s litter box is.
So much prettier to look at.
By the way that skirt helps hide the cat litter refill box and a bucket. Not her cat pan but the actual cat litter in the box.Thought I should clarify that.
Another change I made was the light fixtures. We had those builder brass lights…..hated those.
I found these basket shades on Decor steals. The actual fixtures were found at Menards.I added those Edison light bulbs. They are not the brightest bulbs and are a little yellow. But they really look great with these cage shades.
Since they are not bright I added that little lamp on top of the locker. We could have added another light in here….I have one.But it’s not in our budget right now.The electrician would have had to tear the ceiling appart to add another light and then I would have to fix that.
We have a window which brings in allot of light so no need right now for another light.
My window treatment is a simple sheer curtain found at a thrift shop for 2.00. It is hung using a spring tension rod.
After I left the antique mall I was left with a few treasures that I was using as display. One of those treasures was a screen door I had hanging from the ceiling.I decided to hang that to the wall as you enter in the laundry room.
I am thrilled with how this came out.I used most of what I had and anything I bought was at a garage sale, thrift or antique mall. This was done on a tight budget. But it ‘s proof that you don’t have to spend allot of money to add vintage charm to your home.

I think you have a lovely laundry room! It’s pretty big too. I’d love to have one as big as yours with a window and a sink! Mine is not decorated at all it is more like a walk in closet style with shelving. I love how you used fabric around your sink. Velcro was a good idea for that project. I also like the pie safe for storage in there. I wouldn’t paint it either.
