If you are patient you will find what you are looking for.
Case in point a few years ago I was looking for a vintage ice cream bucket.
You know how it is, you see a photo of something and you can imagine that piece in your own home.
I could not get it out of my head!
While I was out thrift shopping I found a vintage ice cream bucket, not the one I had hoped to find.
So I painted it and made it look vintage.
I have enjoyed that for the past couple of years.
Just the other day I was out running some errands and I decided to stop by one of my favorite antique shops.
I was not looking to buy anything, but being cooped up inside for so long I needed to walk around and get inspired.
One of my favorite dealers that always has the most amazing Shabby Chic treasures is in this particular shop.
Oh you have seen lots of the goodies from her in my photos.
Well as I walked into her booth I spotted this sweet little gem.
And yes that door and this sweet chippy table are from the same dealer.
The color on the ice cream bucket along with the rusty patina is perfection to me!
Of course I had to take a few photos of my roses in this piece.
Unfortunately the price of roses has skyrocketed around here, until after Valentines day.
I will enjoy every last petal drop until I can buy more.
I am sure you are wondering if I will be keeping my other bucket.
The answer is no,I will be selling that in my shop opening soon!
Yes I am getting ready to finally open my shop.
It’s a little more complicated than I thought it would be.
This bucket will not be for sale, but I did find a few other treasures from this same dealer that I will be selling.
I have been hunting for treasures for several months.
All the vintage treasures are pieces I would add in my own home.

I love this! I have an ice cream maker which isn’t really “old” in my eyes, since I got it for my wedding in 1982. Now…..in my children’s eyes it is ancient. Mine is bare wood and I’ve had it stored away for what seems like forever!! I did not want to get rid of it, although 2 husbands (LOL) tried to get me to do so……it was a gift from my sweet (RIP) Gramma who searched far and wide for a good old-fashioned “crank” ice cream maker. Your post inspired me to pull it out and I think I will paint it Americana style and put it in my bedroom. Oh boy! I’m so excited to get started!! I have not set up a blog although considering it…..but I will definitely post pics on Facebook when I get it done! Thank you so much for the inspiration!! Vicki from Friendswood, Texas
Anne says
Oh how lucky for you Vicki! What a treasure to have one from your Gramma! Pull it out and enjoy it 🙂
