I am getting ready to start a new project, but before I do I wanted to try out a new paint color that may be incorporated with the project.
I have been playing around with Miss Mustard Seeds milk paint.
This time I decided to try Tricycle red, with Linen.
I was trying to achieve a soft pink color.
Since I am not ready to start my project I pulled out a few pieces and started painting them.
I can’t say how much I mixed because I was really going by the look I wanted to achieve.
This tote was already painted white when I found it.
It was not painted really well, but that’s okay.
When I am out treasure hunting and come across a vintage piece that has layers of chippy worn paint and sometimes a little drippy paint,I love it even more!
Nope,it does not have to be perfect, the more imperfect the better too me.
I love that you can see the brush marks under the top coat, and the worn edges.
This color is so pretty and soft.
I am working on a few other pieces with this color.
I would describe this color as a soft coral pink.
I love using these totes as I did here, just adding an ironstone pitcher with some flowers.
But this would be great to hold towels, toilet paper,on a kitchen table with napkins and utensils.
This sweet piece has lots of possibilities.
Just listed in the shop of White Lace Cottage.

Very pretty, Anne. How different in color is this than just straight Apron Strings?
Anne says
That is a good question Sharon.I want to order apron strings and try it to see.

What a pretty color, Anne! I love it! A while ago, I tried MMS in Tricycle, too, and added a tiny squirt of acrylic paint in brown. It took it from a coral pink to my own dusky “Prairie Pink”. 🙂 In fact, my kitchen shutters were done in it. 🙂 Milk paint is fun to use, isn’t it??? 🙂
