I found a beautiful oil painting the other day while I was out treasure hunting.
The painting itself is fabulous,I love the frame too but not gold.
(Sorry for the dark photo, this was taken in my studio and the lighting was not great on this particular day.)
I took it home and used Vintage Market And Design Furniture Paint in Porcelain.
After painting it two coats of Porcelain I added Dark Umber wax.You can see the side by side on this photo.
On the left side I used the dark wax,on the right side it’s just painted with porcelain.
You can see how the details on the frame really pop once you use the wax.
After I applied the dark wax I used a clear on top because I wanted a softer look.
Here is the frame now.
I love this color,it’s such a pretty soft pink.
The wax adds a different dimension and I achieved a vintage look without sanding.
This frame also cracked just a bit and looks authentically aged.
This painting is gorgeous!
I am not planing on selling this anytime soon in my shop.
I am going to enjoy it for a while.
I decided to hang it in my kitchen above my French china cabinet.
I added those fresh flowers to one of my favorite pitchers.
They are called wax flowers and they smell amazing!
Love the soft purple color and sweet delicate stems.
It smells like spring!
At a recent visit to my friend Janet’s amazing shop Lucky Junk ,I found this amazing vintage seltzer bottle.
This bottle works great here and makes a pretty vignette.
Janet has more of these at her shop!
She also has a blog I hope you will go on over and visit here blog Lucky Junk.

Anne, this is an amazing transformation. I love what that wax does to bring out the frame details, which I totally overlooked in the original frame. How did you decide to use the Porcelain color? Just curious because you chose the exact right one!
Anne says
Thank you Connie,I love the soft pink color.I knew it would look perfect with this painting.
