Yes it was love at first sight when I spotted this vintage French enamel sink.
Something about the chippy rusty patina….made me fall for this piece.
A soon as I spotted it I knew it would work perfectly on my side porch.
After shooting photos of my Screened porch,I knew something was missing on my side porch.
Don’t you love it when you find the perfect piece!
I really don’t like making holes on the outside of my house unless it is necessary.
I had to think of what I could attach this too.
Then a ah-ha moment hit me.
What about that chippy cool door with that vintage knob.
It surely would be sturdy enough for this heavy sink.
Since this chippy door was free I am not concerned about it getting ruined.
But I do love the chippy patina so I will be adding a sealer on this too keep the chippy paint on.
Love these sweet flowers too…..and they smell amazing!
A little Mothers Day gift for me!

Thank you Sandy!
Hi Anne, don’t you love when that happens? The whole “Love at first sight” thing.
I bring only the things I know to be useful or beautiful into my home, and yes it’s le coup d fondre, love at first sight.
I have looked for years for a French enamel sink of iron, have indeed found them but here in Ca. They want a small fortune, so I will wait until one of good pricing finds me !:)
I love the door as well, I have a door on its side out doors blocking the patio keeping our puppy from leaving the patio, and letting the all year weather give it more of a beating, through all the harshness this past winter it pretty much looks the same, so we will see what’s next for its inspired journey.
I am going to go back and check out your past post looking for more of what you have fallen in love with, love at first sight.
Xx
Beautiful Mother’s Day to you.
As well as an inspiring weekend.
Dore

We have one, but I wouldn’t let the Hubs hang it…I thought it was a urinal…LOL

Love it Anne. You know me and doors so that looks awesome.
Kris
Thanks so much Kris!
I love your sink. So unique. Several years ago my husband and I went to a big auction in northern Indiana. It was the end of the day and I spotted an old enamel sink (cute, but not as cute as yours) and I decided I wanted it. I stood there for probably 45 minutes and got it for $3.00! My husband couldn’t believe me. I hung it on my brick wall in my garden and he has to finally admit, pretty clever and cute.
Holy cow Becky what a great price!
What a great find and addition. That door is so cool and this piece is the perfect touch. Happy Mother’s Day.
Cynthia
Thanks Cynthia!

Thanks Mary…..unfortunately it’s not hanging on the door any longer 🙁
Anne~ I don’t know if you know but feedburner is not working any more for us that subscribe by email. This has been a problem for a few other blogs I follow and they have had to add another feed sender, if I’m making sense . I haven’t received an update since the middle of April when feedburner went down. Love the sink planter !
