Today was such a gloomy day that I decided to play out on the porch and start getting ideas for planning our party.
It’s crazy it is spring but it was only in the 50’s today,I am really longing for summer and heat.
I guess it’s about time I started planning our party it’s only a few weeks away!
I have been so busy finishing up projects that I have not even thought about what I wanted to do…well until today.
I am getting ideas of how I want to set things up,setting this up visually gives me a better idea.
See that old pink drawer?
It was in the shop of White Lace Cottage
But it did not sell so I decided to keep it and enjoy it for awhile.
That is why I buy only what I like,if I don’t sell it then I can enjoy it.
I am thinking of using my green ball jars and adding roses to it as a centerpiece either on this table or on my kitchen island for our party.
Those sweet plates are also available in my shop, but I kept a few for myself.
Not using them for the party but I was just playing around taking photos.
I will probably just use pretty paper plates if I can find some I like.
But I have been known to use good china even for a party.
I love the delicate pattern on this set, these are becoming my favorite!
The tablecloth was found while out treasure hunting a while back.
I am always looking for tablecloths to use for our porch table.
But I don’t just look for tablecloths,I also love using vintage sheets or pretty quilts.
Still deciding on using this or another one I have.
Actually the other one is in the photo I shared on my reveal of my Porch.
I love burning scented candles even when I am sitting out on our porch.
And my new favorite is Rachel Ashwell’s magnolia and red currant.
I found several of these at two separate Target stores, yes I am a candle hoarder.
But these are limited edition so I wanted a few of these so I could enjoy them a little longer.
I am sure you can tell my favorite flowers are roses, especially pink.
So you know how much I adore double impatiens, they look just like roses.
And that tote was also available in my shop, but when things don’t sell I keep them.
I sold a few of these totes, glad I now have one of my own.
It’s propped on a vintage step ladder that has the perfect light shade of pink.
Love these step ladders, great to prop things up but also can be used to sit on or as a little side table for a drink.
We are still trying to decide which to serve at my daughters graduation party.
Well actually we decided to serve sandwiches, but we can’t decide whether to get pre-made or have a serve yourself with all the fixings.
If you were going to a party that was serving sandwiches what would you prefer?

Its always fun to plan for a party. Your china is very pretty. I didn’t know that Target sold those candles! I was just there today too. I’ll have to look for them next time I’m there.

I’ve been collecting color swatches for the perfect shade of pink. I think this is it, (drawer and tote)! I’d love to know what color it is if you are willing to share the information!
Anne says
Hi Robin not sure what color that drawer is because I bought it already painted, but the tote was painted with the color porcelain by Vintage Market and Design paint.

Love the dishes! My sister and I have quite a collection of vintage and new dinnerware. We justify our collections by participating in our city’s annual Tour of Tables, which is a fundraiser for the library and museum. I’ve always used my dinnerware with family so they have memories of it and maybe someday want them – even my boys know how to set a nice table:)

Thank you Loxie!Oh how cool that you and your sister collect dishes too!I have a hard time resisting beautiful pieces, and mixing and matching is fun too!

What a nice post! The china is so pretty and I love the napkins with the lace around the edges…would love those! I love anything with lace. I am also a candle hoarder and I will look for those at Target. As far as the sandwiches go, I would prefer to make my own but I would be happy with pre-made sandwiches too 🙂

Thanks so much Tracy!

You will have such a pretty party, Anne. That pink drawer is so unexpected and special and with roses will be beautiful. How gorgeous are those impatients? I think all the fixins for sandwiches would be fun for everyone. Really casual ..Happy Thursday..Judy

Of Anne, it’s so exciting to plan a party making sure all the final touches are perfect.
It all looks great and you inspire pieces used in ways not intended making it that much more interesting 🙂
See you soon at the party 🙂
