He never talked about it most war veterans don’t .
What they saw and what they fought for is too painful to remember.
This will last them their whole life.
These Men were boys fighting for a war…fighting for our freedom.
Women too have made this same sacrifice.
I can’t imagine the fear, and pain that they endured.
Even after fighting and coming home.
I Salute them…each and everyone!
Thank you….
For our Freedom…..
For risking your life to save Ours…….
For enduring the pain so I don’t have to………
For keeping our Country Safe…………..
For keeping our Country Free……….
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Please remember this as you gather with friends and family this weekend.

Beautiful post, Anne. My grandfather also served in WWII and I loved hearing the bits and pieces he shared. Although, like you mentioned the details were slim. We are all recovering from the mystery virus, too. I’m still exhausted after 6 days, but much better today. I hope you all feel better soon…it won’t be a fun way to attend graduation!
Anne says
Thanks Tina….saying a prayer for you to heal quickly too!

Thanks my sweet friend <3

My father also was a WWII vet and he, also, never spoke of the war, except when he and my husband discussed “Saving Private Ryan.” Isn’t it amazing how our true heroes want no glory or fame?
Anne says
It really is Denise,so many people don’t realize the sacrifices Veterans made.

Great Message….thanks for sharing!
Think about all the classes you have been teaching…
your body needs to refuel and regroup…take time to
heal you over achiever. If you have this much energy,
I am sure your family follow your lead. Get a book
out and sit. I know a novel idea. Crack me up.
Anne says
I know Diana I do keep busy, but it is what makes me happy. All this sitting is making my bones ache more.Hoping to get up and do a little more today,I think I need to and I am going nuts not doing anything … LOL!

So sorry to hear you’re all ailing, sure hope everybody gets well for graduation.Nasty bugs don’t seem to have any regard for what’s going on in people’s lives when they rear their ugly heads. On top of it the holiday weekend. Keep prayers going for you all.
Our Grandson in KY graduates on 30th., so wish we could be there to surprise him. His Dad is flying to Ky for graduation then both boys (18 and 16) will fly back to San Diego for their summer visit. Hardest part for son is not being around his boys, his health wasn’t too good in KY due to allergies and asthma. He’s alot happier/healthier back in San Diego again with many of his friends from high school.
My husband was in Nam. We were married 3 1/2 weeks when he had to leave. Several of my relatives were in wars also. Your post was very nice the way you honored the soldiers.
Anne says
Congratulations to your Grandson JaneEllen!

Hoping everyone is much better soon. Around here the mystery virus hit 1 1/2 week ago. My husband insisted it felt like the flu, went to the dr. and asked for flu test. It was negative. 3 days later and feeling sicker he went back to dr. and insisted on another flu test…this time it was positive for Type B flu. We know of 2 others that have had the exact same scenario happen to them and tested positive for Type B flu on the second test. Dr. said it is rare and unusual for flu in May, but it is here…it’s just that doctors aren’t testing for it this time of year. I think that’s why so many seem to have the mystery ‘virus’. We’ve heard many complain of being so sick. Hoping you and your family are up and about very soon.
Anne says
Oh no Cindy!Hope you are all feeling better now.Today is the first day I am feeling normal. My daughter is also feeling better, but not my husband.
