Do you remember boomboxes?Well it’s 2014 and we still have boombox from the 1990’s….yes we still listen to music CD’s.But I don’t feel so ancient when I know many still enjoy listening to records …most kids have no idea still of what a record is.
We had our boombox in our basement to use while we work out, but my husband and I have been using our phones and listening to pandora so we really don’t need our boombox in the basement.
Okay how did this topic start?
Yesterday while I was setting up for my daughters graduation party I thought it would be nice to have a little music outside,so I brought our big boombox out of our basement and added it to our porch.
And when I say big I mean BIG boombox!
It’s sort of ugly but you can put up to six CD’s in it which is great for entertaining you don’t have to keep changing it every half hour.
So for now I added a piece of pink ruffled fabric I found months ago and actually had this draped over my chaise in our bedroom.
It’s that simple nothing complicated at all.
But just like cords, somethings are just not pretty and need to be covered up and this boombox is one of those….although I guess I could paint it…not sure it will really make a difference.
I think covering it up is the best, and it will protect it a bit if it get’s a little wet.
The boombox is sitting on a heavy bench out on our porch and a vintage window is the back drop.
I decided to add a lace panel to the back of the window, just pinned with a few tacks.
I did have a fountain here, but it stopped working even after buying a new pump it did not seem to help at all.
That’s okay it’s nice sitting outside listening to music.
Aren’t these roses gorgeous!
And that ironstone pitcher is one I have had for many many years,I don’t think I could ever part with it.
Love that sweet pink rose!

My daughter’s graduation was so much fun but the time went by way too fast!
Now this week is my daughter’s dance recital,I cannot wait.
It is so much fun to see your kid active in sports,or the arts.
It is a treat going to see her in whatever she does.
Looking forward to doing a few girls day out trips this summer too!

Hi Anne,
I have a boombox in the studio and I have so many great CDs that I haven’t wanted to let it go yet. :)))
I’m so glad to hear that the graduation was great. Congratulations to your daughter on her wonderful accomplishment.

I go to the Pawn Shops and get my Boomboxes! I love when I can find the combo of Cassette and Cd player, then I can play all my great old Disco Tapes, Like The Gap Bands “She Dropped the Bomb on Me”! Fun While I’m doing My Mosaics.

Boy do I remember boomboxes and sometimes I miss them and now I have no cd’s. I download from Rhapsody. I just liked listening to the full cd when I wanted to and I loved having 6 at one shot. Great idea what you did with it and enjoy the recital.

My 1995 boombox that was in my craft room just now pooped out. But you know it was a JVC top of the line and sounded great! I’m in the market for something new…. Maybe something from Bose…. We’ll see.
