Recently I came across this French mirror while out treasure hunting.
My upstairs hallway is pretty simple,I don’t have anything else but a mirror hanging on the wall.
I love the style and details, but not the gold color.
The price was a bit more than I would actually pay,but still a lovely find.
I had another mirror hanging in here but it was a little too plain and a bit too small.
That is a reflection of my daughters door on her bathroom.
I decided to use a very pale pink,Vintage Market and Design paint in Porcelain, yes I know I use that color allot.
It’s one of my favorite colors,as if you did not already know.
This is a very tight spot to photograph,I am barely standing in the hall shooting these.
You can see why I fell for this piece, the detail is amazing!
I only sanded this slightly and I did not wax it.
I am using wax less and less lately,if it is not a piece that I will be using like a table or chairs I am not waxing it.
I like the muted look of this without the wax.
If I used wax it would give the color more depth.
My peach chippy chair that I had here previously may have to go into another room because this chippy pink chair seems to work better in this spot, well at least for now.
Until I decide to move things around……..again.
This chair is one of my favorite chippy pieces, the color and patina is perfection to me.
That bit of lace is actually an old lace apron,it’s so dainty and soft.
These roses work beautifully in these shots,I would love to have a pretty pitcher sit here on this chair everyday, but that’s not the case these are for photos only.

I love that mirror! I love mirrors with curvy frames anyway. The new white color with distressed edges makes it look even better.

Thank you Kelly, yes I love the curves on this piece too <3

You seem to have a knack for finding exceptional pieces. I love that mirror, look so pretty with colors you put on it. Brings out details in subtle way. The gold was garish. And that adorable pinky chippy chair, I’ve noticed it every time you’ve shown a photo with it nearby. I thought maybe you had that pitcher with roses in it on chair all the time, it’s perfect there.
Better get back to my project, lining l/r curtains. I found bunch of lining on Sunday and did one pair, doing other pair today. Our l/r windows face east and the back west so get very strong sun in afternoon. Curtains weren’t that heavy so thought I’d buy some lining when we got paid, was a nice bonus to find lots of it in sewing room.
Don’t work too hard.

Thanks so much JaneEllen!Wow I bet your curtains will look gorgeous…wish I could sew!

The mirror is beautiful. I am using less and less wax too–I like the flat as can be look. I only wax things that are going to be touched a lot.
Anne says
Thank you Sandy.

Anne, I am fast becoming a Porcelain lover just from all your photographs! The beautiful gold mirror you painted is chippy too; if you didn’t use wax, did you just sand it?
Anne says
Thank you Jackie! I sanded it lightly and I did not use wax on it because it is a piece that will not be touched or used, just displayed on my wall.
