Yes I am a vintage gal and being so I love surrounding my self with vintage items, and often repurposing vintage treasures to use in other ways and not as they were intended.
Wow that sort of makes me sound like a rebel, well I guess I am sort of.
I don’t follow rules when I decorate,I do what I like and surround myself with things I love.
This holds true for pieces I use everyday, but I put a little spin on it.
This soda bottle is not vintage, but looks vintage ,I found it at World market.
I bought many of these for my daughters graduation party back in June.
I love the graphics on this one, thinking of using these as vases for my flowers, another idea came to me.
Using it for my dish soap.
I just added on of those olive oil spouts, you can find these at just about any store.
Look in the kitchen supply area.
This is so functional and looks much prettier than a plastic soap bottle.
And I love the vintage look, even though this bottle is not vintage you can use a vintage bottle!
I like keeping my spices at hands reach as I am cooking, not all of them just the spices I use most often.
Do you have herbs and spices you use allot?
I found this drawer several years ago,it’s big enough to hold my jar of sugar and all of my spices.
Okay the jar of sugar is mostly for decor,I love how it looks but it really does not keep the sugar fresh,it always seems to get moisture turning it hard.
But it it does look pretty doesn’t it.
I do use all of those other spices and herbs, just about everyday.
One of my favorite treasures that you are probably getting tired of seeing is this pink scale.
I love using it for my blue mason jar dispenser, but I also enjoy adding a pitcher of roses.
Simply adding a silver platter to this scale helps hold the pitcher in place.
But a small wood cutting board or a marble pastry board would work lovely as well.
I also use this scale to serve desserts,or as a plate server.
Adding a stack of plates looks pretty and makes it easy for my guests to grab a plate.
So many fun uses for this scale I don’t think I will ever part with it.
I have a few different scales in my house.
This one I am using mostly as decoration and as a plant stand for my petite baby’s tears plant.
And that bread box holds my coffee and coffee filters.
Inside this bread box is a pretty container that I use for my coffee, the filters are neatly tucked inside too.
It’s sort of a coffee caddy.
It makes my coffee easy to get to but also makes a decorative piece for my kitchen.
If you notice all of my decor on my kitchen counters is not only decorative but useful.
I don’t like knick knacks but I do love using pretty things for everyday use.
Totes are another favorite of mine.
I could show you many ways to use these, and I have several of these in different shapes, sizes and colors.
We have been enjoying this one on our farmhouse table.
It stores our extra napkins,my table sweeper, my plant for just a touch of color and my vintage mustard jar.
Just enjoying those vintage knives as decor, not sure if I would use pieces with that patina, but they are so pretty.
Yes I do use that mustard jar for other utensils that we actually use.
Love my hanging scale, not meant to hold apples but I love the farmhouse look of it and yes we do eat those.
I am constantly filling this up every couple of days!
These little wood cutting boards are great to use as servers.
Even adding a few bottles of water looks prettier when served on a wood board.
That candle is from Target,I love this line of candles.
They are soy, they burn well, they give a soft scent and I love the messages.
This one says be grateful and I truly am!
I am sure you already know that you can use these as everyday drinking glasses, and yes we do use these everyday.
Not just for water, they make great margarita drinking glasses too…wink…wink.
And yes I also use my vintage blue ball jars for vases, not the ones I use for drinking I keep them separated.
Another use for these pretty jars, they make great dessert cups.
Filling these up with mud pie….yum!
These are so much fun to use for dessert if you are hosting a party!
Next time you are out treasure hunting, take a look at some of the pieces you find.
You probably could think of many uses for that special new found treasure!

Hoping to give you all a sneak peek as I go through it all.
If you are local or even if you are not why not plan a trip 🙂
Yes I am going to reopen my on-line shop to sell a few things.
The Sale is August 8th and possibly the 9th.

What a lovely tour through your vintage items! My favorite is the hanging scale!! Everything is so pretty, though. I love how everything is used for a purpose other than just sitting around looking pretty. 😉

Thanks so much Kim!

I’m a new follower and I just want to thank you for your blog. I love the knives in the mustard jar. In fact, I have a few lovely silver butter knives that I think would look good displayed like that. I need to shop my stash to see what I have. Thanks for a great idea! I am enjoying your blog!
