I have seen reproduction pieces like this before but I have never come across an authentic vintage metal stool with a number on the seat like this one.
Yes I have stenciled stools with numbers, but to see one that is authentic is a rare find.
No need to fluff this photo with roses, because this makes a statement all on it’s own.
The patina is perfection as is the color.
This was found at an estate sale, which I rarely go to.
But I spotted the sale as I was on my way chiropractor.
That’s usually the only time I stop at an estate sale, they are normally expensive and you usually have to take a number before entering.
This was a house with a barn, and I was able to walk on in.
I bet you noticed my door I am using as a back drop, yes that is my barn door.
And this may come as a surprise but that door may be at the sale.
And of course this sweet vintage chippy stool.
I have had this door for many years, and I really don’t have the room anymore.
It may need a new home.
This actually makes a great combination,I love the farmhouse look with that industrial look and feel of that vintage stool.
I am ready to start setting things up for the sale.
I can’t wait to share it with you all!

When I have to miss all the outstanding sales by incredible bloggers I tell myself it’s better I can’t be there, I’d spend too much money. Would too. Love that old stool. It is unusual for stool like that to have a number, hmmmm. Great stool tho, will you be doing anything to it or leave as is?
We have an old metal stool I found in KY that’s in pretty bad shape as hubs used it for his work stool when he was making things in KY. I’d love to paint it give it a new life but I’ve been told, HANDS OFF OLD WOMAN. So guess the poor old bedraggled stool will stay bedraggled. Can’t sneak it out to paint it as hubs home all the time. If I suggest he go somewhere he’s suspicious right away, can’t imagine why. lol. Happy summer days
Anne says
LOL sounds like your husband found a true treasure JaneEllen.I can respect not painting it,believe it or not I don’t paint everything either 🙂 .

oh Anne, how can you sell that stool?!! It’s so wonderful! Wonder if you were at the same sale my son went to. He was looking at their desk but it was too big for his needs.. He said the opening of the sale was crazy. LOL>…He had never been to an estate sale before.
Anne says
I bet it was Lynn,I don’t go to estate sales often. But this one caught my eye.Glad I popped in!

Oh, wow a real conversation piece indeed and to find one with the numbers on it that much more interesting to treasure. I found a metal stool a few weeks ago with a split wood seat and I know that it’s a keeper feeling. I love your door, no room for it ? Could you not mount it to the wall somewhere? I just love when pieces like these make a statement in a home, and to be able to mount it to a wall to then be able to hang a grouping of vintage pieces off it makes for such sweet conversations.
Wish I lived closer to hit up your sale, I may be the one to bring home your door if you didn’t decide to keep it after I try to talk you into keeping it 🙂
See you soon, I am going back to check out your older postings I have missed out on.
Xx
