Did you know that we change our clocks forward this weekend?
It’s hard to believe it but we do!
I can feel spring is coming, but as I look out the window at this cold and blustery winter day I know we still have many weeks before it even begins to feel like spring.
That’s not stopping me from adding a few spring touches to my home.
Nothing elaborate, really very subtle changes is all that my home really needs.
I don’t like clutter.
I am always finding craft supplies at the thrift store, especially lace and ribbons.
This ribbon can be used for so many crafty projects, or for wrapping a gift.
Today I decided to make a few Shabby ribbon roses, and with this wire ribbon this was very easy to do.
All I needed is my ribbon, a pair of scissors, my glue gun along with some glue sticks.
Just take your piece of ribbon and start scrunching it together, turning as you go, then add just a dab of glue as you are making this so this won’t unravel.
Don’t worry about perfection just have fun creating!
This is the beginning stages, see how it’s starting to look like a rose.
Keep scrunching, turning and gluing this.
Until it looks something like this.
And that’s it!
I decided to glue my roses on a ribbon along with some lace trim.
After gluing these roses on my ribbon I knew just where I wanted to add this.
To my tobacco lath.
This was a recent find, I have been hunting for one of these for sometime, but I knew eventually I would find one.
I think this lath is pretty on it’s own, but I must admit I love the soft feminine look with these ribbons and roses draped across this lath.
On my dining room table I added a seed tray, another recent find.
I love the contrast of my wood tray and my pink roses.
I’ve decided to keep my wood bundles in that crate for a little longer.
It’s pretty and rustic, and even though I am adding touches of spring, it’s not really officially spring yet.
I added blue to my seat cushions, but I could not resist adding a little pink in this room.
A shabby little step ladder that’s been moved practically all over my home.
And a pair of ballet slippers hanging off.
I don’t always add pieces for decorative purposes, but I love the look.
Let’s hope I don’t kill that plant.
It’s called Angel vine and I purchased it last week at my friends shop.
I love how delicate the leaves are.
The book bundle is from Kris at Junk Chic Cottage, she gave these to me last year for my birthday.
I had to take a shot of these lovely pink roses in this seed tray, yes they really do work perfectly together.
Are you ready to daylight savings time, I sure am!

Why do you call your wood lath star a “Tobacco…?” Your dining room is “minimal” to mine. I like “clutter.” I can appreciate your style, a rustic elegance. I like your blog. Thank you for all your ideas. You are a busy lady with all your ideas. I have ideas too, but I can’t work fast enough to get them all accomplished. Sherry

Love the pink ladder and the books and slippers look so pretty. I purchased one of those angel vines from Janet too but mine did not make it. I do love the pot it came in so I put dried hydrangea’s in it for the kitchen. I have the worse luck with angel vines. Yours looks pretty healthy. Your ribbon rose garland is so pretty.
