My daughter asked me to make a special dessert as an Easter gift to her.
I told her about the Angel food heath bar cake I made many years ago, and one I thought she would really enjoy.
My daughter is quite thin, she watches what she eats.
Occasionally she indulges in a sweet treat, we all do in our home.
This recipe is so easy to make and it’s been in my head all of these years.
Seriously so easy to remember you won’t need to write it down either.
As I said, this recipe was given to me many years ago when I was working in an office.
Someone brought this to work and I was in love!
Okay are you ready?
This is super delicious, and super easy to make.
Here is your list of ingredients:
– 1 box Angel food cake mix
– Milk
– 1 box instant vanilla pudding.
– 16 oz container of whipped topping
-6 Heath bars(broken up into bits)
First make your Angel food cake, follow directions on the box.
Let your cake fully cool.
While your cake is cooling, make your instant pudding, then set aside.
Take your Angel food cake and break it into pieces.
Don’t cute it up, just tear pieces off and place in a rectangle dish.
It does not matter what size dish you use.
I mean you don’t want a really small dish, just use a medium to large size dish.
Start placing those torn cake pieces in your dish.
In a large bowl, fold in half of your whipped topping into your pudding mix.
Then spread the pudding mix on top of your cake pieces.
Make sure to spread the pudding/whipped topping mix evenly on your cake.
Take the rest of your whipped topping and spread that on top of your pudding/whipped topping mix.
** Tip**
Break your heath bars up by placing bars in a med-large size zip lock bag. Use your meat tenderizer on the smooth side to break the bars up. Make sure to do this on a cutting board or safe surface so you don’t harm your counter top.
Add your chopped up heath bar mix on top of your cake.
Let this sit over night, then it’s ready to serve.
This won’t last long in your home, trust me.
I think that’s why I haven’t made this in years, it’s dangerous to have in my house.
This is absolutely delicious!
It’s one of those desserts that can be made pretty quickly once the cake is baked.
You can make this a day ahead of entertaining.
If you are making it for a party or guests, you can use a prettier dish too.
I wasn’t entertaining, just making it for my daughter.
Oh don’t worry…we will help her eat this delicious dessert 😉
