Painted Deck Floors

April 30, 2015

I wasn’t planning on writing a blog post today, well I was and then I got caught up in a project.

I am sore all over, and I feel a migraine coming on.

The project I’ve been working on is my screened porch deck floor.

I have been looking at painted deck floors on pinterest for months trying to decide what to do.

This was one of those all day projects.

Despite all of that, it looks amazing!

I’m not ready to share just yet.

This photo was taken last spring.

We were able to start enjoying our porch  last spring.

I didn’t do much as far as decorating last year, because I was not able to paint or stain the floors until the wood had dried out.

So I did the best I could with what I had.

I found a rug, and painted it for the time being.

Last fall my husband and I painted the deck floor.

I wasn’t being fussy at that point, I just wanted to have something on the wood deck to protect it for the winter, and snow.

So I painted it the same color as the walls, which is a ivory white.

I am not ready to reveal the floor just yet.

But if you follow me in Instagram or Facebook then you got a sneak peek.

This room is going to be revealed in stages.

Let me say that it’s going to look much different than it did when I revealed it a year ago.

I am adding a privacy feature, and also adding and changing things around.

This is one room that will be used throughout the summer.

We practically live in this room.

We enjoy eating all of our meals outdoors.

The best part is that it’s bug free!

We not only get mosquitoes, but yellow jackets too.

Take a good look at this photo because this room will be quite different the next time you see it.

 I have lots planned.

Besides adding a privacy feature, I will also be adding touches of color.

And a few things will also get transformed.

Somethings will not be coming back into this room.

But this chippy piece will be coming back for sure!

Stay tuned for more soon!

I have migraines and i feel for you,i take my meds and go to bed. I was on fb and if that gray and white is your floor,i can’t wait,it is very exciting. I have a screened porch in front it is dark so it makes it private and i live there in the spring and summer. Get some rest and get over that headache and have a better day.

ABOUT THIS BLOG

ABOUT THIS BLOG

Hi I'm Anne.
I started this blog many years ago to share my passion for home decor. My tastes have changed and so did I.
We recently moved to Florida and we are starting a new chapter. My main focus on this blog has shifted. With that I'll be sharing more than home decor.
You'll see makeup tips, skincare, fashion and a little bit of decor as well. You can check out my Youtube channel as well and follow me along. I'll leave all of my older posts up as a reference. But you'll see lots of changes.
