This post will either bore you to death or you will enjoy it.
Today I am not sharing any DIY or decorating tips.
But, I am sharing a personal story, something I am very passionate about.
Disney
I guess it depends on whether you are a Disney Freak like I am.
If you are then you will most likely continue reading.
If you’re not, then you will probably not want to continue reading.
One of our favorite places to vacation, and my happy place is Disney World.
Why is Disney World so special to us and why am I such a Disney freak?
Well I have always been a Disney fan, ever since I was a child.
We lived in Orange County California, which is very close to Disneyland.
I was lucky to have visited Disneyland quite often in the four years we lived in California.
But, I have to be honest, I did like Disney at that time, but I was not in love with Disney as I am now.
After I was married, my husband and I took our first trip to Disney World.
Actually my husband lived in Florida for a short time of his childhood, so he had been to Disney World.
This trip was my first visit.
We had an amazing time, but it was a fast trip and was a blur.
I barely remember it at all.
Then ten years ago in June of 2005, we took our daughter to Disney World for the first time.
Wow, I look so young, and thin!
I cried when we arrived and cried when we left.
We celebrated our first trip with my husbands family that live in Florida.
It was an amazing trip and one I will never ever forget.
(Meeting Snow White for the first time, her idol)
It was the first time my daughter saw the princesses up close and in person.
My daughter still believed in make believe, and magic.
You could see that sparkle in her eyes as she saw characters she saw only in movies come to life.
(Enjoying her first of many Mickey Bars)
I guess seeing my daughters reactions to our visit was like visiting for the first time.
It’s like I became a child again, watching my child take it all in.
And on that first trip we added another day to our visit, because we were not ready to leave.
If you are a Disney fan than you get it.
You get the fact that no matter how long you wait in line, it’s worth it.
The sights, the smells, the sounds, when you visit you take it all in.
And when you live so far away, you never know when your next visit will be.
On every trip we seem to add yet another day.
Last year we stayed for 10 days, and honestly it wasn’t enough time.
Again, when you’re a huge Disney fan, then you totally get it.
When you arrive it’s the happiest day of your life, and when you leave it’s the saddest day of your life.
(Putting on a brave face, we are all tearful in this photo, sunglasses can hide a lot. This photo was taken just before leaving the park on our last day)
Last year seemed to be harder than any other year to leave.
I’m not sure if it’s because my daughter is grown up and not knowing when we will be back, will she still love it as much.
This year we are staying home, no Disney trip for us.
And for that matter, no trips are planned at all this year.
We are all so sad not to visit, but we are hoping on getting back in the next year or two.
And when we visit, we will enjoy every single minute!
Taking it all in, not knowing when we will be back.
But I know with big changes coming in the next three years.
Leaving the parks will get a lot easier 🙂
So being such a Disney freak, since I can’t visit often but still enjoy the sounds.
One of the sounds for us is the bus ride to the parks from our resort.
And one of our favorite resorts is Port Orleans, French Quarter.
This is not my video, but one I found on YouTube.
Yes, when you are a Disney freak, you totally get the enjoyment of the sounds and sights of this video.
I can close my eyes to the sounds of the bus, and pretend I am on my way to an adventure at one of the parks.
See, I told you I as a Disney Freak!
Enjoy!

Enjoyed your post and the pictures. The picture of your daughter with Marie, the cat, actually has a picture in the background of where I work. 😉 I am a seasonal cast member and spend a lot of time in The Confectionery. ♥

Thank you Beverly! Oh how cool! I am so sad we won’t be visiting this year. But one of our favorite rides is temporarily shut down,The Pirates Of The Caribbean.I guess it’s good we won’t be visiting this year. Next time we do visit it should be up and running again 🙂
