Have you ever been ready to start a project, only to have a detour?
Yes this post is all about projects, purging and ramblings.
Mostly those detours are when you are searching for products or piece for your project.
And let me tell you I am not patient went it comes to waiting.
Wow that doesn’t sound nice does it.
But it’s reality, and I am keeping it real.
Once I get an idea in my head, I am ready to start.
But it doesn’t always work out that way.
And there are times that the idea that I had in mind doesn’t go as planned.
Yeah I have many of those projects that never really make it on my blog, and I don’t want to share them.
Not because I am embarrassed, well I guess I’m sort of embarrassed.
So where am I going with all of this rambling?
I guess I need to share what’s been happening in my life and why I have not been sharing my projects yet.
My porch is just about finished, but I am now waiting on curtain rods, I was sent the wrong size.
Hey it happens, but I was so disappointed because I can’t wait to hang the curtains in my porch.
Wait until you see them, the curtains will add the perfect pop of color on my porch!
I have also been purging lots of my collection.
It’s funny I am getting lots of comments like ” Aren’t you sad to part with your things”?
And the answer is no, I’ve enjoyed them, now it’s time for someone else to enjoy them.
Yes these Angel wings were sold at the sale, and I know they went to a great home.
She happens to be one of my besties.
I really love how open and clutter free my home looks.
I will post photos once things get in order.
I’ve had to touch up some of my walls, in area’s that pieces have been removed from my walls.
I probably need to paint, but honestly I would like to put that off for the next couple of years until we are ready to put our house on the market.
Yeah tall ceilings are NOT fun to paint!
Note to self next home NO tall ceilings and NO carpet!
Another project that I can’t wait to start is in my bedroom.
It’s nothing big, but a change indeed.
And that project involves paint, but I am waiting on a few colors to arrive.
They should be here in the next day or so.
The colors are part of my signature color line, I cannot wait to share them with you!
I’m also cleaning out my cabinets in my kitchen, getting rid of things I no longer want or use.
So yeah, I have lots of projects and cleaning to do.
And the more I purge and get rid of the happier I feel!
My dining room will have quite a change, as I am selling my china cabinet.
If the buyers decide they would like the table I may sell that as well.
How fun, a clean slate to work with!
Does that mean I will start buying and bringing things in?
Nope!
I’m really enjoying living with less.
Stay tuned for some little changes.

As I may have mentioned to you before, I’m borderline minimalist. You wouldn’t know it by my garage, but, if you were to walk inside my house, you wouldn’t see a whole lot. Looks like I just moved in most of the time. LOL So, I get it.
Anne says
Well it sounds perfect Rosemary 🙂

Oh…..how I wish I could channel some of your energy to declutter and sell the “stuff” in my basement that sorely needs to go to another home, Anne! I just don’t even know where to begin! lol I hesitate to sell my shabby chic stuff….yet I have so much of it! I need you to come for a visit and kick my tush in gear, girl. lol

I am not sure what is inspiring me to do this. But it’s wonderful to have less. Yes, hold on to those Shabby treasures.Even with BoHo style you may find a way to work them into your home.

I have been trying to de-clutter, put items in donation bags, containers to sell @ yd. sales, & rest to toss, but I seem to be the only one noticing the small changes. (I have much to de-clutter) I need a new handyman to help me w/larger projects, but am finding it difficult to find one that I can trust. It is so frustrating when others don’t see or understand my process.
I also have a large house, pool, property & 2 homes to take care of besides everyday cleaning, laundry, shopping, bills, etc thus leaving me a marginal am’t pf tome to complete my projects.
I thank you for sharing your “tasks tone done”

ps: I enjoy your blog and like your website.
Anne says
Linda it sounds like you are doing it the right way, a little at a time. And I totally understand. I have gotten rid of so much and yet I still have much to do! Thanks so much!

Oh Anne, I know how you feel! It’s to the point where I don’t want anything! I’m tired of making time to clean it all. When you work full-time the last thing I want to do when I get home is to clean. I have bins in the basement full of stuff that I want to get rid off. Out of sight out of mind. To me it’s just stuff! It doesn’t talk, it doesn’t breath, it has no emotions……….I literally need a week off just to purge and freshen up. I also have little holes in the wall to patch from stuff no longer hanging. Ugh!!!!!! We can do it Anne!!!!!!
Anne says
LOL Kelly, yes we can! Sometimes I wonder how in the world I collected all of my pieces, because I had so much! My advice is to do a little at a time. Don’t go through all of it at once. Have a yard sale if you can, and donate the rest.

Anne says
LOL Marlene, isn’t it funny how being away from home can make you want to change things too! Have fun!

one of the great up-sides to our kitchen remodel taking so long is that I’ve changed my mind a gazillion times since we began it. I don’t want clutter and I don’t want anything overdone. Just a few pretty things…yep a clean slate.
So…I get it. I sooooooooooooooo get it!
Rebecca

Jonni @ Jasper's Cottage says
There is something so freeing about getting rid of things, isn’t there? Especially when you know that there will be a big change coming in your life. By the way, you really won’t want that carpet in Florida. We have carpet in our FL house and I can’t wait to rip it all out and put in nice, cool tile. jonni
Anne says
No I hate carpet Jonni, I really do. Next home wood and or tile but no carpet.
