I have a few projects I am working on right now, but….I stopped and I paused.
And I wondered, am I sharing content that you want to read about?
When I started this site, I wanted to share tips and tricks and ideas to inspire you with vintage style decor.
I love painting and creating, it’s what I love the most.
But is that what you want to see?
This post isn’t about what you don’t like, but rather tell me what questions you have, and what you would like to specifically see more of.
I am going to still share painting projects, and some simple craft ideas.
But,I want to hear from you, and I really hope you all reach out to me and tell me what you would like to see more of.
But please be specific.
I recently shared a survey and most of you enjoy seeing decorating ideas.
But, I would love to know what specificallyย what you have questions about.
I would like to create content specifically for topics you would like to learn more about.
I want White Lace Cottage to be more than pretty photos.
Each time you visit, I want you to leave feeling like you have learned something new.
Maybe a tips on shopping for vintage treasures, or how to paint a piece of furniture.
Or how to decide what works in a room.
Would you like to learn about rearranging flowers, or organizing.
You tell me, what you would like me to talk about on the blog.
I have lots of ideas for upcoming posts, but I want to share things that interest you.
So tell me in a comment below, what topics you would like me to share.
Be as specific as possible in what you would like me to share, talk about, or explain.
Any tutorials you would like me to share?
This is your chance to let me know ๐
**Please leave your questions and comments on what you would like me to talk about on the blog **
Thank you ๐

I love your site and yes I would love to give you ideas! Just this a.m. I was thinking on how I could make an ottoman that could be sat on yet have some drawers one about 3″ deep and one about 6″ + deep to hold some of my meds I must take morning and evening. I usually remember to take them while watching tv! So it would be great to have something like that. It could have the top flip up with small storage in it for any nail clippers, sewing items, pens, etc.
Here are others:
correct painting techniques using paint and maybe chalk paint, and stains. When do we stain or paint?
When is a piece of old 70’s (not built great but antique now) worth making over.
Show how to make a head board out of old newel posts and barn wood or t&g saved from a house.
how to add lighting to a headboard w/o it looking cheezy
Last but not least….how do we upload photos of what we did? I have been doing some fun things with wood, paint, and lighting

Great ideas! Where did you want to upload your photos to?

GREAT questions!
I would like to read tips on different paint techniques…spray paint…chalk paint….stuff in quart cans…spraying with a sprayer (something I have yet to try but do own one)….what makes a piece of furniture worth refinishing compared to repainting the entire piece….
Your site and your blog provide such great information and tips now that I really don’t know how you can improve it but….I am sure you will find a way.
Thanks for being interested in what “we” need to learn and what “we” need to know.

I love all you do! I guess if I could choose a few things, they would be. 1 How do you go about incorporating new styles with old if a total make over is not in the budget? 2. Can you paint directly paint over a cherry colored wood without using a primer? Thank you for all your great posts!
Anne says
Thank you Ellie! Great ideas! I will be sharing the answers to these questions on upcoming posts ๐

Chalk paint is outrageously expensive. I’ve read about making your own. Have you tried it?
Anne says
Hi Jackie, yes I have made my own chalky paint. And I will tell you honestly there is a big difference between making your own and purchasing a good brand of chalk paint. I have used several chalk paints. When I was introduced to Heirloom Traditions paint I was shocked at how amazing this paint is to work with.It goes on like butter, covers extremely well, and distresses with ease. There is a lot that goes into making chalk paint. The colors that are custom mixed etc. I may have to share a blog post soon to explain :-).

Love your posts, can’t wait to open and see what new things you are doing. Would like to see something done using the colored waxes, does it change the look of the piece.

Hi Anne! I’m relatively new posting comments, so I’ll give it a try. First, I really enjoy your site. I read everything first then transfer all your postings to a folder. That way I can refer to them often.
I love chalk-painting furniture pieces that I pick up at thrift shops and garage sales. I sell some at a local store and I sell on VarageSale (which is local) I love it all but have no room for anything in my house!! I also find chalk paint very expensive at $30-40 a qt. If it’s a big piece, it gets costly and I have to paint everything the same color! Keep posting all your good ideas!

Thank you Marcia!

I can’t remember where I discovered you but I’m so glad that I have. The primitive look is my favorite style. If you can share some ideas on the best colors to use on walls and furniture and a little of this or that it would be very helpful. Love it when I see an e-mail from White Lace Cottage!!
Anne says
Thank you Bobbie, thank you so much for your input, I will be talking about that soon.
