Last week I mentioned that I started a program called Whole30, and I also shared my addiction to sugar.
You can read about that HERE.
After writing that post I had my first weigh in.
When you’re on this program, your not supposed to weigh yourself until the end.
But, because I have struggled to get these pounds off that I gained, I wanted to see where I was at.
I just needed that confirmation that indeed this was working.
When I got on the scale I was 4 lbs lighter!
Well, that was a nice surprise, and I wasn’t really expecting it.
I cheated again today, and jumped on the scale this morning.
And I am now in a total of 6 lbs lighter since starting this journey.
Today marks 14 days of my sugar free life, and I don’t miss it one bit.
I am being completely honest when I tell you that.
My husband and daughter enjoy chocolate, so it’s in my house.
I have access to it if I wish, I am not longing for it at all.
I feel so much better since I started this program, and I don’t want to ever go back to eating the way I did.
This goes beyond the way I looked, but the way I feel now too 🙂
I’m hoping to lose at least 8 more lbs, but most importantly, I feel amazing!
I’ve been eating real foods, nothing processed.
And I also feel like I am enjoying what I am eating more too.
I’ve been working out a little harder as well.
Yeah, as I said before, I hate exercising.
But, it’s the only way to stay fit.
Anyway, I wanted to fill you in on where I was at on my journey.
Once I am finished with my program I am going to share a before and after photo of myself.

I’ve also been working hard on my book and it’s near completion!
It seems to be taking forever, because I keep adding more information.
Don’t worry, it’s not going to be a huge book, but one that I hope will teach and inspire you.
I’ve had to make sure I keep focused, I was getting a little overwhelmed a few days ago.
But…..I took a deep breath and I am continuing to plug along.
Because of my time frame with my book, I have had to postpone a few projects until it’s completed.
Which makes writing my blog a little tricky as well.
Hope you’ll bear with me.

Hi Anne, you are doing great! I have heard so much about whole 30 and I have seen people change for the better. So glad that you are making such a great change in your life. Jo

Congrats, Anne!!!!!! I’m sooo happy for you! I knew you could do it!!!!! (insert clapping!!) I lost 6 pounds too….but am suddenly at a stand still. UGH. I need to kick things up a notch I guess. I want to lose 10 more if possible. I know that the closer you get to your ideal/set weight, the more difficult it is to lose the pounds. I did buy a 20# kettle ball and some 15# weights. Michelle’s going to get me going on a lifting routine. All of my lab results came back really good, too. Insulin is nice and low which made me happy! I am going to have my dr switch me over from Synthroid to NDT. I hope that that will help with future weight loss. Anyway…..great job, girlie – and let’s keep going!!!!!!! 🙂

Yay way to go girl!! And thank you for all of your love and support, that means so much to me <3. Yeah, I think the less you have to lose, the harder it is. I feel better and better each day. And I am eating more :-). But I am eating all the right things which is why I am seeing improvement. My jeans are very loose, and I need a new pair. But I am waiting until I finish the program to see where I am at.

I did the whole 30 and it is an amazing experience! It has completely changed the way I eat and think about food. I’m about to turn 60 and I haven’t felt this great in a decade – all my muscle pain has disappeared! Check out Dr. Christine Maren’s blog – she is a functional medicine doctor who has great recipes and advice on eating paleo. I really enjoy all your tips and advice on painting furniture!

Oh that’s wonderful Nancy! I will do that. Thanks so much, I will be sharing lots more soon, I promise.

Sounds like you are doing great. Even at 66 i still exercise,i go 3 times a week. It is so very important to exercise to keep your body moving and joints from getting stiff and to eat right. It is very hard to eat different than your family. What you do now helps your tomorrows. Have a great week Anne.

Yay, I am so happy to hear that Marlene. Yes, as much as I hate the dreaded exercise,I know how important it is. My Grandfather lived in his 90’s and he never owned a car. He walked every where. And it’s most likely the reason he lived a full life.
