Can you believe today is October?
It was just August!
Well you all know my feelings about fall, the colors are pretty, but I dread the cold winter that’s ahead.
Can we please just skip over winter to spring 😉
Well, that’s not going to happen.
And since I will be spending more time indoors, I start looking around to make changes.
And guess what, we are starting in the family room first.
A year ago, around this time of the year, I said I would never.
I guess I should never say the word never.
Well, guess what?
I’m changing my mind.
I know you thinking, never what?
Please get to the point!
Okay, so a year ago I said I would never paint this piece.
I am changing my mind, and I will be painting and transforming this piece!
The thought of painting this piece was heavily on my mind.
I am not taking the television out.
When I asked my husband if I could paint this, he said as long as I don’t have to unhook anything.
It’s playoff season for the Cubs, okay no problemo 😉
I can’t work around it, and still make it look amazing!
Yeah, I’m up for the challenge.
This large piece needs to change, as you can see, it doesn’t go with my decor at all!
I won’t be just applying paint, I have some ideas on how I will give this an authentic vintage look.
This room is going through a transformation, you will see lots of changes, but not all at once.
I will be sharing each change that I make.
The room reveal make take several weeks or a month.
And this little change is also forcing myself to do a few things I have never done before, more on that soon!
So say goodbye to this cabinet, the next time you see it, well it will look quite different.
Fingers crossed, my vision will work!

Can’t wait to see the transformation! Oh but if it’s OK, we could have one week of snow during Christmas. Not the cold, just cold enough for the 7 days to keep the snow. I have a hard time getting into the spirit of it without snow. Then yes, we can move right into Spring…a really long Spring! That’d be great!

Knowing you the entertainment center will be especially awesome when you get done. Looking forward to seeing it soon. I’d love to do something with ours, it’s black which is not good with our living room. Trying to think of some way to change style of it Now all I need is lots of energy to get it prepped and painted. Will have to do it out on back deck which isn’t covered. Hot out there. Hopefully seeing yours getting make over will help to inspire me. Good luck on your project.

Hi JaneEllen I am working hard on my cabinet, it’s starting to look amazing already! But I have still much more to do. I’ll have to wait to finish it until next week. There are too many games on this weekend, so I can’t finish it. Oh, that’s awesome, yes paint it. You will be amazed how transforming one piece can change a room!
