5 Of The Best Ways To Add Patina

December 27, 2015

This morning I woke up and made a pot of coffee.

It’s the first thing I do when I wake up in the morning.

Well, maybe not the first thing, but it’s one of the first things that I do.

After drinking a cup of coffee, halfway through my first cup, I got up and added more coffee to my cup.

Yeah, it’s one of those kind of days.

Just keep that coffee coming 😉

As I was sitting enjoying my coffee, I started to thinking about all the projects I’ve shared this year.

So, I thought it would be fun to look back on 5 of the best ways to add patina.

I’m always tying new techniques and I’m never really sure of the results.

You are all the first to see what ever I come up with.

Oh, before I share 5 of the best ways to add patina, I thought I would share what I’ve been up too.

Well, let’s just say my home is no longer decorated for Christmas.

I know it may seem early for some, but I’ve had my decor up since November, and I have a bunch of projects waiting for me.

What projects do I have?

Let’s see remember that book I was working on…yeah that.

I need to work on finishing my book.

I never realized how hard it would be to write a book, until I started writing a book.

You find out that you are your own worst critic.

Well, that’s how I’ve been.

And do you remember my tv cabinet update?

I’ll finally start tackling that!

I’m also in the middle of filming my videos for an upcoming workshop, and I have several other projects that are in the works.

Taking the Christmas decor down is always a project, it leads me to start cleaning and organizing.

I am purging lots of things I no longer want!

We have a spot underneath our stairs in our basement that we store our seasonal decor.

All of our seasonal decor is placed in those oversize totes.

I like to keep that area cleaned, because in the spring when we have our tornado sirens blasting, it’s our safe place to go, so it needs to be cleaned and cleared out.

This is the first time since living here that the area is really clean.

It’s so nice not to have clutter.

I’m sort of on a cleaning binge right now!

A cleaning, organizing, and rearranging binge!

So, as I was sitting here drinking my coffee, and thinking about some of the projects I am going to start working on.

I also started thinking about some of my favorite projects and yours too, since these were the most viewed!

Here are my top 5 of the best ways to add patina.

And so after I sit here enjoying my many cups of coffee, and after eating breakfast, I’ll get back to rearranging my furniture.

It’s actually exciting, I really look forward to changing things around.

And I’m not spending money on any of the new changes!

Are you ready to take down your decor?

Do you freshen your home up by rearranging your furniture?

More on the painting workshop soon!

Hope your Christmas was wonderful, Anne! All of my Christmas decorations are down and put away. I am like you in that I have my decorations up in November, so it’s nice when it all gets cleaned up again. I am ready to clean and organize as well.

I’m in the process of taking mine down and while I’m at it deciding which ones I’m going to give away, I just have too much that I will never use again. This is the time of year when I really clean to get ready for spring so when it gets here I can go outside all day and not feel guilty, I also finish up projects I have started and need to finish, and if I need to paint any rooms or touch up any trim this is when I do it and when spring arrives my house is nice and fresh and clean.

ABOUT THIS BLOG

Hi I'm Anne.
I started this blog many years ago to share my passion for home decor. My tastes have changed and so did I.
We recently moved to Florida and we are starting a new chapter. My main focus on this blog has shifted. With that I'll be sharing more than home decor.
You'll see makeup tips, skincare, fashion and a little bit of decor as well. You can check out my Youtube channel as well and follow me along. I'll leave all of my older posts up as a reference. But you'll see lots of changes.
