Being Nominated And Going After Your Dreams

January 25, 2016

Last year was a pretty amazing year for me.

I was blessed with some amazing opportunities.

My goal was to make it happen and I did.

It wasn’t luck, it was chasing after my dreams.

I wasn’t afraid to put myself out there and take chances.

Many people asked me how I got my signature paint colors, with Heirloom Traditions paint.

This is what happened.

I was contacted by Heirloom Traditions paint.

And I was asked if I wanted to try a few samples of there paint, I thought, sure.

So I received those paint colors and fell in love with the paint.

I know you are thinking, how can you love paint that much.

Well, it’s simple, the product is pretty amazing to work with and I’ve worked with many.

One of my first projects was this sweet little table, that went viral!

A few months after using this amazing paint, I decided to ask about creating a pastel line of colors that reflected my style and taste.

Yeah, that’s exactly what I did, just flat out asked if I could create a line of colors.

I was so scared to to this, I really was.

What if she said no, how would I feel?

But, you know what?

If I never asked, how would I know either way.

I mean, you have to take chances.

It’s not always going to work out.

But, if I never asked then I would never know.

So I asked, and she said yes!

I was pretty shocked, happy and surprised!

I’m very happy with the colors I created, because I did created them.

I mixed  paint colors together to create each one.

I know that sometimes it can be uncomfortable putting yourself out there and asking for something.

But, again if you don’t you will never know.

Not all opportunities are going to come to you, sometimes and most of the time, unless you’re lucky, you have to make things happen.

Just think of the many missed opportunities all because you were afraid to ask.

A few of my magazine features happened because I contacted the editors of those magazines.

I sat down at my computer and I shared how much I love their magazine, how inspiring it is to read.

And how much I would love to get featured.

I have had opportunities that have come to me.

But, not all opportunities were just given to me.

I’ve also had to ask and make things happen.

And guess what?

Today I’m reaching out to you all and I have a question to ask.

I’m sure you all know Better Homes and Garden magazine.

They are looking for nominations for 2016 blogger awards.

I would love to get nominated, and would really appreciate it if you would do that for me.

You can enter White Lace Cottage HERE.

I have no idea if even being nominated would mean that I will be chosen, but hey, it’s worth a shot right?

Remember never be afraid to ask or go after your dreams!

Thanks so much, I really appreciate you taking the time to nominate White Lace Cottage!

ABOUT THIS BLOG

ABOUT THIS BLOG

Hi I'm Anne.
I started this blog many years ago to share my passion for home decor. My tastes have changed and so did I.
We recently moved to Florida and we are starting a new chapter. My main focus on this blog has shifted. With that I'll be sharing more than home decor.
You'll see makeup tips, skincare, fashion and a little bit of decor as well. You can check out my Youtube channel as well and follow me along. I'll leave all of my older posts up as a reference. But you'll see lots of changes.
