I’ve been keeping a secret from you and honestly, I don’t know how I’ve been able to do it!
I can keep a secret, but this is a pretty big secret!
It’s time to spill the beans because I’m ready to burst!
Last year I shared that my dream was to move.
You can read about my hopes and dreams HERE.
I’ve been selling lots of my collection and I’m still planning on selling more at my sale in May.
After I wrote that blog post, my husband and I talked and talked about what are plans would be if we moved.
Where would we go?
What about my daughter and her school?
Shortly after we talked, my husband was offered a new job.
This new job would mean transferring to a new state.
Moving now was a big decision, she only has a few years left, but we decided to bite the bullet and move.
The job offer was too good to refuse.
We’re moving to Georgia!
Over the past several months we’ve been building our new home.
Georgia is a beautiful state and so much warmer than it is here, and we’re closer to Florida and Disney!
As I said, we started the process of building our home several months ago.
It’s been difficult because my husband has been commuting back and fourth for several months now.
But, it’s also been an exciting process, from finding our lot to watching each step of the process.
Of course you know that I’ve had fun picking out all of the cabinets, counters, flooring and hardware.
I’m already planning our landscaping and back porch.
Of course you know I’ll have to add one to our new home.
I know we wanted to down size, but we thought why not build big again.
One of my favorite parts of my new home is our kitchen, it’s very similar to our past home.
Oh, so let’s talk about selling our home.
We listed our home and after the first couple walked in, they fell in love and bought it!!
Now you know why I haven’t shared many photos of my home lately, it’s because most of my home has been packed up and ready to go.
Our buyers asked if we could hold off on the closing date.
So, our closing date is May 20th, I cannot wait!
It’s been really hard to keep this to myself.
And if you believe this then guess what, you’ve been fooled!
Happy April fool’s day 😉
We are planning on moving in the next couple of years, but I really don’t know where for sure
And I hope that it’s as easy as selling our home quickly and moving on, but you know in reality that’s never how it works out.
My current home is my dream home, and those are photos of when we were building it, almost ten years ago.
November will be our 10th year in this house!
Time has gone by so fast, and I can’t believe we’ve been in our current home for all these years.
I’m very thankful for our home, I love everything about it.
But, it’s a lot for me to take care of, especially working.
I’m looking forward to downsizing into something much smaller.
It’s fun looking back at these photos of when they built our home.
We watched each and every step, and photographed it all.
I have many, many more photos.
I don’t think we’ll build our next home, but I’m thankful that we were able to experience this twice.
So here’s my question, if you could live anywhere you wanted or build a dream home which would you pick?
I’d love to hear your answer.
Please share below in a comment 😉

Wow Anne, you had me there for a minute! My first thought was – is she still going to get to see Carol Burnett in May? Silly huh!

You got me. I was like “oh, but she just put all that work into her daughter’s room” hahaha. Every year, it’s like my brain just erases that it knows it’s April Fools. I know it’s coming, then I just forget. And a couple hours later I’ll forget about it and someone else will get me. Unless it’s really unbelievable, then it will click. I think that’s the trick, telling someone something that is believable. My sister sets up her joke weeks beforehand, she is crazy. Lol.
I just had this conversation with my husband last week. We live in Upstate NY. We want to move in about 5 years or so, I think West Virginia would be a top pick. Still close enough to family, weather is ideal for us and it is just beautiful. That is liable to change though!

If I could move anywhere, I’d move to Alaska. I would love all the nature and solitude. And if you believe that you’ve been April fooled. Lol. I’d like to move out west/southwest without all the themed southwest decor. Im just not a fan. But since it’s so expensive I guess I’m stuck here with my 4 seasons in Indy. Which ain’t all that bad ?

We are retirement age. We want to move in a few years because we are planning to continue working until then. We will stay in Virginia. We live close to DC now and want to move closer to Charlottesville where our son and family live. We’ve always dreamed of a log cabin and have never built a house. But who knows we may find something else!
You got me on the April Fools joke!
