DIY Bathroom Mirror Frame Update
Update a bathroom cheap by using what you already have. I’m on a tight budget like most of you, and I can’t afford to completely update and renovate my master bedroom. If I had a magic wand I would rip the tub out that we never use and replace it with a linen closet to store all of our stuff. Then I would take our vanity out and replace it with an old dresser, but add double sinks. I’d also take the medicine cabinet out. Next, I would take the floors out and replace it with tile, and I would redesign our shower. This bathroom update was easy to do. One of my favorite projects was my simple DIY bathroom mirror frame. Before I talk about the bathroom mirror frame let me share a few of updates I did in this bathroom. First I gave the bathroom a fresh coat of paint. Then I updated my cabinets and distressed them.I painted our vanity and then distressed it. This was super easy to do, and I’ll be giving this a quick update soon since this was done several years ago. I also added hardware to my cabinets you can read about that HERE.
My ugly lights were replaced with this chandelier that I found at Menards. I hung this myself. I’ve always installed our lighting in our home. It’s very easy to do. But if you’re not sure how to do it then hire a professional.
My bathroom mat is from Decor Steals and the towel train rack is from an antique store. I have very limited storage underneath my cabinets and it’s why I need to keep our towels out. I wish I didn’t have to do that.
Because the mirror is pretty boring I decided to add a frame to it. This was so simple to do.
How To Frame A Bathroom Mirror
- Measure your mirror
- Visit Homedepot and purchase decorative trim and a corner block.
- Ask a Homedepot associate to cut your pieces for you. If they won’t you will have to cut them yourself.
- Liquid Nails
- Paint your trim and corner block on the front sides and back. If you don’t paint the back you will see this once you glue it on to your mirror.
- When the paint is dry apply glue to the back of your trim then place your pieces on the mirror.
This is a super easy project to do. You can get a little fancier with the trim. But I didn’t want to deal with angled corners and it’s why I chose straight cuts. Adding this frame to my bathroom mirror makes it look more finished.
As you can see without renovating our bathroom I gave it an update by using paint, decorative details including the chandelier, nobs and bathroom mirror frame.
A bathroom update can be pretty expensive but this was so easy and cheap to do. I really think that anyone one on any budget can easily update a bathroom on the cheap.
Are you planning on updating any rooms in your home?

This is lovely! I wish I had bought that cute train shelf I saw in the antique mall in New Braunfels. It would have looked great in our bathroom. I had thought of using it in the entry hall, but I had already bought another shelf and didn’t think to use it elsewhere. I have seen the mirror fix before, but I appreciate the hint to paint the back first. You have inspired me.

Anne! What a sweet bathroom! You never leave one detail undone! LOVE the chadelier, omy my goodness! The color you chose for your walla fairly glows, perfect for a bathroom. I am fascinated by all of your lovely “Anne Tiuches”…the gorgeous mirror frame, the addition of the shower curtain. painted vanity, the bamboo mat, fabulous luggage racks and for the cherry on top, that sweet little pink dress hanging on the vintage rack next to thewindow! You proved it, many times one doesn’t need an entire renovation, only fresh paint and a few updates.
