HOW TO KEEP THE WEIGHT OFF DURING MENOPAUSE
In my last post I talked about my sugar addiction and weight loss. Today I want to talk about how to keep the weight off during menopause. Losing weight over a certain age is one thing but during menopause it’s a game changer if you want to keep your weight off and maintain it. First off I just want to be clear that I am NOT a professional. I’m just sharing my personal journey. Please talk to your Dr. BEFORE starting any new diet or weight loss program.

As I was aging I noticed that temporarily giving up certain foods wasn’t good enough.I had to make a lifestyle change if I wanted to keep the weight off during menopause. Our bodies metabolism changes so the way we ate in our 20’s and 30’s can’t be the same. I decided to do the Whole30 program. When I finished it I decided I would not go back to eating sweet treats. I was eating those every day through out the day. I know it’s extreme for some but when you have an addiction you have to do it for all or nothing.
My diet now consists of mostly protein foods. I start my day off with a powdered drink (Vital Proteins). I put two scoops in my coffee which is 18grams of protein. This keeps me going for several hours in the morning. I used to enjoy cereal in the morning but there’s lots of sugar and carbs in it so instead I have a small bowl of fruit (blue berries, strawberries and pineapple) with a protein yogurt. This has 17 grams per serving as well. I drink plenty of water during the day. In the early afternoon I’ll eat turkey breast and a sliced pickle. The pickle gives me a little crunch and flavor. I don’t eat bread and I don’t put mayo or mustard on this. This usually keeps me satisfied until dinner. If I get hungry before dinner I’ll have a handful of almonds.
I talk more about my meals including my dinner on my latest video. You can watch it HERE.
