SEBACEOUS HYPERPLASIA TREATMENT?
Let me first say that I am in no way an expert. I’m just sharing my experience with sebeceous hyperplasia along with the treatments that my Dr. recommended to me. I’m also going to share something that I recently discovered that’s helped to flatten my sebaceous hyperplasia. I am in no way saying that this will work for you. But I wanted to share this with you as an option to test out if you’re desperate as I am.(this post contains affiliate links, see disclosure policy)
WHAT IS SEBACEOUS HYPERPLASIA?
They are oil glands that get hard and form bumps. My Dr. told me that this happens due to over active oil glands, heredity, sun exposure, age and hormones. I’ve always had oily skin and people would tell me how lucky I am because I wont’ get wrinkles. Well they’re right I’m almost 54 and I don’t have wrinkles but I do have these bumps. I’d rather have the wrinkles because there’s so much you can do to get rid of lines and wrinkles.
TREATMENTS
My Dr. told the treatments are as follows. Retin-a which will minimize the look of them. Having them removed which can lead to scaring and they can and will come back. And then there’s the Electrodessication which is a heated needle inserted into the sebaceous hyperplasia. The heated needle melts the oil, in a few days in forms a scab and falls off.
I’ve done all of these including the Electrodessication which did nothing but scab up but it was still there.
VITAMIN C SERUM
I recently started using Truth Treatments trifecta vitamin C serum. Soon after I started using it I noticed not only did my skin have a glow, my rosacea calmed down and my sebaceous hyperplasia appeared to look flatter. You may be thinking well I thought you were using retin-a. I was using that but stopped because I ran out of my prescription. And even when I was using retin-a sometimes they would look flat and other times they would get raised especially in the summer months when my skin gets oilier. This vitamin c has kept my sebaceous hyperplasia flat! That’s one of the first things I noticed about it.
PROOF
There is no proof that this works! I am not saying if you purchase this vitamin c you’ll get the same results. But over the years I’ve used several vitamin c serums and none of them did this to my sebaceous hyperplasia. But I want to make it very clear that I’m not saying you’ll get the same results. I’ve notice a huge improvement with my skin and I won’t be without it.
