MAKEUP FOR DROOPY HOODED EYES
As we age our skin starts to sag. One of the most noticeable is our eyes. That sagging hooded skin that makes it hard to see our eye shadow. I’m going to share makeup tips for droopy hooded eyes. I’ve always had slight hooded eyes but as I’ve aged my yes are more droopy, sagging and hooded.
CONTOURING EYES
When you’re applying makeup to your droopy hooded eyes you have to apply it so it looks like you have a crease and it looks like your eye isn’t droopy. First you want to apply a medium color shadow in your crease area. You want to use a fluffy brush to apply your shadow in your crease. Relax your eyes and look straight into a mirror. Then apply your eye shadow just above where your crease actually is. Don’t stretch your eyes up because once you relax your eye you’ll never see that shadow. Keep working and blending that in.
OUTER CREASE LIFT
Now we want to add a darker shadow on the outer corner of the eye and we want to connect it to the crease shadow be keep it on the outer corner. This is going to give the illusion that the eye is lifted. Because we created that shadow that makes it look lifted. Don’t go too far outside of that area. You don’t want it past your brow tail.
BRIGHTEN THE LID
Lastly we want to add a lighter color to the lid. If you apply a darker color it will create a shadow making it look like your eyes are sunken in. The lighter shadow will open the eyes even if you have very little lid space. The key is to go above your actual did space but not over the top part of your crease. I like using soft shimmers but you can use a matte shadow. Just make sure it’s a lighter color.
