Create Appliques Using Fondant Molds
Many months ago I saw a tutorial on how to make appliques using candy molds making and plaster from Debi’s Design Diary, and I thought, what a brilliant idea, I need to try this.

This is super easy to do and these can work with any project that you’d want to make appliques for. Not only furniture, but using these for picture frames as well.
Are you ready to get started?
How To Make Appliques Using Fondant Molds
Supplies needed:
This table was painted White Lace and Posh Pink, both colors are from my signature line of paints.
Read the directions on the package, and mix up a batch of Plaster of Paris. I’m going to be honest, I just mixed it up with water using a paint stick, then added it to my molds.
These silicone molds are great because the plaster doesn’t stick to the mold, making it easy to take the finished pieces out. You can see I made a full batch out of these.
And you can make more, depending on the project you are making. I decided to use the flat shaped rose, and a few leaves for my table. I glued these onto my little table with E-6000 glue.
As you apply these you’ll want to press down, but not too firmly or they will crack. Once they’re dry, you can paint them. It’s just a fun and easy way to add appliques.
And that’s it, wasn’t that easy to do. I’ll be making more of these appliques in the future. If you’ve tried this technique, I’d love to hear about it my comment section.

I know what you mean about skin changing during menopause….along with everything else, of course. lol Just not the same anymore. So, thank you for sharing such great tips! I would love if you listed the products/colors you talked about today so that I can look them up. Bless you, gorgeous girl – and keep these fabulous videos coming! ♥

LOVE LOVE LOVED this video. You are so genuine! I come from (and am in the direct marketing infomercial world) so I am a product junkie too! One of my clients (and now friends) is Kate Somerville…I adore her under eye concealer, “IllumiKate”. I think it is fabulous and love how it also contains a moisturizer so it never gets cakey or dry. I still use an under eye moisturizer too but I highly recommend this concealer. I use the medium shade since it is the most natural. Looking forward to seeing all your Blog posts since I finally signed up today…have been enjoying you on Facebook since i joined about a year ago.

After reading comments think will have to watch video. I’m not much for makeup, don’t know how to even apply it to make self look better and I’m way beyond menopause, am 75. I started menopause at 37 due to hysterectomy at almost 31. I went in for a female procedure and doc told me I was in menopause. Well gee, could have done without that news. I had a hard one too. Mood swings, etc. Wanted to kill my youngest was 13 at time, what a mouth she had and she’d start every morning while I was getting ready for work. Got so I didn’t want to come home from work in afternoon.
Hey what’s this red hair stuff, will take me bit to get used to it. What did your hubs say, does he like it?
Hubs was checking weather on pc, it’s 29 degrees out here and snowing like crazy, again. We’ve had snow since Saturday. Even dog doesn’t want to go out in it and he loves the snow. And our poor cat has cabin fever something awful. Need to pay a bill online so better get to it. Have great week
