Yes I have a Christmas tree in my kitchen this year!
Last year I shared this Christmas tree in my trunk, you can view it HERE.
My Christmas tree looked great in my trunk but this year I wanted to do something a little different.
This year I decided to add my tree to this galvanized wash tub.
Yes I know you have seen this before,it’s not an original idea.
But I have always adored this look!
The size of this wash tub is perfect for my tree.
I added that piece of vintage lace from some scraps I had been saving for a project.
Since this is a twig tree I like to keep things really simple.
I used one strand of 100 lights and I just added these in a wave pattern.
It is not easy to wrap the lights around on this tree because of the branches.
These ornaments were made by simply decopaging music to these thrift shop ornaments and then sprinkled with glitter.
I also decided to make a few music sheet ornaments this year too.
Using vintage music sheets was not easy because the paper was so fragile.
Getting the ornaments to a point was a challenge.
But it’s okay I am not about perfection.
I always keep scraps of lace on hand so I used pieces of lace and attached it to the ornament for hanging.
A little glitter was added just to the edges.
I thought my tree would look pretty if I added some Angel wings.
I decided to make my own,I found the feathers at Hobby Lobby.
I glued, shaped and trimmed the feathers into Angel wings.
My chippy door makes the perfect backdrop for this tree.
And of course I had to hang my ice skates from the door knob.
And my favorite is this beautiful crown made by my sweet and talented friend Rosemary from Villabarnes.
It’s not about perfection but reflection.

Beautiful, Anne! You’ve got an early start on your decorating…I’m still in the planning stage, but I use mostly fresh trees and greens, so I can’t start too early. I am going to get out some of my white trees this year as well and am wanting to make new stockings…. I better get busy!!
Take care,
Kathleen

Yes Kathleen, I use fresh greens too!But not with my trees they are always faux.I cannot wait to get started on the rest!

Very pretty Anne and the old wash tub is perfect in a kitchen. When we built our first house, in 1977, we moved in just before Christmas. I purchased a small live spruce that year for our Christmas tree and put it in an old washtub. Who knew I was ahead of my time? LOL. We had no shrubbery in the new yard yet and that tree was the first thing we planted. I drove by the house not too long ago and that tree is a beautiful tall Christmas shaped tree now. sigh….Wish it was in my current yard. I know your home is going to be fabulous for the holidays. Who knows….maybe I’ll get to see it. 😉
