Yes I enjoy my bling especially when it comes to chandeliers, then I spotted this antique French chandelier and it was love at first sight.
There is something about a little glitz and glamor that I have always been attracted too.
Even as a child I loved shiny nail polish or lip gloss, that little bit of sparkle always caught my eye.
Several months ago I added chandeliers to my kitchen.
And no I don’t ever think you can have enough bling in your home.
After adding these to my kitchen my dining room really looked out of place.
Well not my dining room but the chandelier hanging in my dining room.
It was not original to our house, but it was what I could afford at the time.
This photo was taken a few months ago.
It was pretty but very simple.
Then I spotted it,a gorgeous antique chandelier and the price was right!
The size is perfect for this room, not too big not too small, and it’s vintage!
These are hard to come by at a decent price, and sometimes the crystals are missing.
Yes I am missing a few but that’s okay I will be on the hunt for some of them.
A sweet blogger friend of mine has something to do with hanging this piece.
You know who you are, thank you sweet friend.
I am very appreciative to her and her husband for helping me out.
I was a little concerned about hanging a vintage light for safety reasons.
But he checked it out and it’s all good.
Sadly one of the lights is not working,I did check it before I bought it so I will have to do a little investigating.
I think it may be the socket.
No worries,I love it regardless and this room is rarely used so it looks pretty either way.
That’s the chance you take when you buy an older chandelier.
What a difference it makes in this room!
Since this room is right off of my kitchen,it really pulls these rooms together.
Love that sweet vintage drawer,it makes a beautiful centerpiece.
Those flowers were bought at my local farmers market.
Mine are not blooming that well yet, hoping to pick some hydrangeas soon!
Okay I better get back to work, lots to do before my sale.
If you are local I would love to meet you.
And if your not why not make it a road trip,Lots of fun shops in the area.

I love your new antique chandelier! I have a few in my house that have given us problems too. Sometimes a bulb won’t light. But, I agree it’s worth it just to have a one of a kind light fixture that is vintage.
Anne says
Thank you Kelly!Yes that’s how these oldies are.But so worth looking at all the bling. We really don’t use a light in that room,it’s hardly used.So it’s not a big deal.

Very Pretty Anne. Love it. Terry said it probably is the socket on it. It worked for him but if it is not now then it could be the socket. It still looks beautiful.

Your chandies are beautiful, Anne! One of the lights in a vintage chandelier of mine didn’t work, and hubby was able to get a kit from Home Depot to rewire the one arm. Works like a charm now.

How gorgeous is that chandelier? So pretty and shiny. Was never a person for Chandeliers but after seeing so many gorgeous ones on Blog land I’m actually getting so I like them, wouldn’t mind having one. Just don’t know where as we have ceiling fans in rooms, need them desperately in summer here. Our mfg. home has one vent in ceiling in front hall for our cooler. That leaves mud room and our room/bathroom with no vents with any cooling, phew. If it wasn’t for ceiling fans I’d die of heat. Really stupid planning of whomever designed this house and ones that bought it, grrrr.
We have a fan in our window in our room that pulls out hot air. It goes pretty much constantly in summer along with our ceiling fans.
Your home is gorgeous, I always enjoy seeing photos of the rooms. Enjoy your wonderful home and especially the lovely chandeliers. Happy summer days
Anne says
Thank you JaneEllen,Oh I have fallen hard to chandeliers.I have always loved them. But started adding one in just about every room over the past few years.Yes it normally is hot here in the summer. Not this year.I have a fan I use in our bedroom,it’s not a ceiling fan.But a large metal fan on a stand.I pull it out at night because that’s when I get hot.Hope your enjoying your summer!

That chandelier is stunning, Anne! Vintage lighting makes me hesitate to buy it because you wonder if it works or is up to code.
Anne says
Yes I was concerned Kathy. So I checked with a professional and he gave me the green light 🙂
If your in doubt always have it checked.Better to be safe then sorry.
