This was quite a project.I used a cafe curtain rod. When I attempted to hang it the screw broke 🙁 .I thought this would not work because it was stuck and I could not get it out! I thought maybe I should try a tension rod.The problem with the tension rod is even though you have it snug they slip.I did not want it falling all the time.So I decided to try hanging the rod again but with better screws.And hoping that I had enough room to work around the screw that was still in place.I was in luck this worked!Because I don’t sew I used iron on hem tape to bind it together so I could hang it.After I hung the curtain I still had an opening on the top.I could see inside the cabinet.And as neat and tidy as it is I did not like that.Again because I don’t sew I added two flour sacks to the top.I fussed with them a bit to give them a ruffle.They fit snug so they won’t just fall off.Can you tell I could really use a sewing machine!
Here is another view.It is hard to get a straight on shot with my kitchen island.I really love how this adds to the farmhouse look I am going for.You can see in the back ground I did a few changes in my family room.That Blanket chest got a update too!
Painted this Annie Sloan old white and sanded it down a bit.Much better white.You can see I get enough brown from my furniture which is not being replaced anytime soon!I may get a slip cover for my sofa.But for now I slipped feed sacks over the pillows.It lightens it up a bit and gives it a funky look that I like! I also changed my lamp shades out.I found vintage shades FREE.I took the old fabric off and made some out of burlap.Those lamps are the same size but the shade sizes are not.I like the fact that both lamp sizes are different.What I am not sharing in my photo is our tv/entertainment center.No need to share it.It is all wood something I would love to paint.But way to big of a project.It is very heavy especially with the tv.That will not be painted !
Do you see those small pillows peaking out of my farmer tote?Those are wonderful Lavender Pillows from Maria at Dreamy Whites. LOVE these pillows! They smell heavenly and she was so sweet with my order she tucked another small one in with my order!My room lingers with the wonderful aroma of lavender!
I also love the Dutch butcher twine she used on these pillows.This twine adds the perfect pop of color too!
Some flowers I picked up at the market.Love the warm tones of this white!This ironstone pitcher is sitting on top of some shell place mats I recently found and picked up at a thrift store.These are so pretty and a great find!
Aren’t these pretty! I actually have four but one of them is cracked.I am gluing that one.
One more thing to share.I found a French style chair at the thrift store.Originally it was going to be sold.But as I was taking photos of it I decided it belonged here for now.Instead I am selling a rocking chair that I was planning on recovering.
I painted it with Annie Sloan Old Orche.Love this color with the pleather.And it is so comfortable too! I am going to paint my other french chair this same color.I don’t think that grey works in here.

I love your sink skirt! It really makes the kitchen more old fashioned now. I have one that is on a tension rod, but it hasn’t ever fallen. It’s extremely snug.
