Recently I was lucky to win a giveaway from the talented Ann Margaret from Ann Margaret's Visions. I shared a little about Ann a year or so ago. But Jennifer Rizzo came out with the idea to share and tell about another blogger. It's called Share It Saturday. I love this idea of supporting other fellow bloggers. And the first person that came to my mind was Ann. This is my beautiful gift I was lucky enough to win. A sweet photo of her beloved Cooper and Ann's beautiful artwork. French Blue Opaline And A Gift
Yesterday I shared a recent find while I was treasure hunting, turns out it is French Blue Opaline. I shared the photo on instagram and Amy from Maison Decor shared that it was not only pretty but French Blue Opaline hand blown from the 1920's! It's absolutely beautiful,it will be hard to part with but it will be listed soon in the shop! ************************************************************* A few months ago my hair stylist had told me that she had a vintage dish set. It belonged to her Grandmother, but it just was not her taste so she asked me if I would like it. Well you know the answer to that! So when I went to my hair cut appointment today she brought a huge tub filled with dishes. I am still trying to sort through them all! After going through it there are two ... View Post
Treasure Hunting
A typical treasure hunting day is a day of allot of driving looking and searching for just the right piece for my home and now for my shop. I may go to ten places and only find one thing or sometimes I will come home with nothing at all. I know what I like,so I walk with a fast pace through shops, garage sales or flea markets scanning and looking for things that catch my eye. Certain colors pop out for me like this sweet cup vase. I love the curves, style and yes that beautiful turquoise color. I also look for things that can be multipurpose. Yes I love finding decorative pieces, but a treasure found that can be used for more than one purpose is very useful and is a true treasure to me. I have very eclectic taste as you know. Yes I love chippy paint especially when it's the right ... View Post
Playing With Milk Paint
I have been playing around with milk paint the past couple of days. It is interesting how a color ,the same color can look so different when painted on a different surface. For instance yesterday I shared this tote with you. You can view it HERE. I painted this tote using Miss Mustard Seeds Tricycle and Linen. This color came out a soft coral pink. Under the coat of milk paint is a white coat of paint. Using the same batch of paint I decided to experiment and paint this plastic frame. Yes this frame is plastic,it was part of a vintage medicine cabinet I found. After getting it home I realized it was not going to work it was too big. So I took the mirror and frame off. I used the same mixture as it was the same batch of paint tricycle and linen and this was the result on this ... View Post
New Project New Paint Tricycle Red
I am getting ready to start a new project, but before I do I wanted to try out a new paint color that may be incorporated with the project. I have been playing around with Miss Mustard Seeds milk paint. This time I decided to try Tricycle red, with Linen. I was trying to achieve a soft pink color. Since I am not ready to start my project I pulled out a few pieces and started painting them. I can't say how much I mixed because I was really going by the look I wanted to achieve. This tote was already painted white when I found it. It was not painted really well, but that's okay. When I am out treasure hunting and come across a vintage piece that has layers of chippy worn paint and sometimes a little drippy paint,I love it even more! Nope,it does not have to be perfect, the more ... View Post
Chewy Granola Bars
My family and I try to eat healthy, but sometimes you are out and you get hungry,a store bought granola bar is usually what we grab. They are filled with sugar so you are probably better off just eating a candy bar. I started searching for a chewy granola bar recipe that would taste good, but not have any added sugar or fat,or nuts. As I searched I found a recipe on Oh She Glows. The ingredients sounded delicious. I did not have the ingredients in my house,so buying all of it was a little expensive. But I know I can make batches of this and in the long run will cost slightly more than the store brand. And they are much healthier for me and my family. This recipe is from Oh She Glows. Ingredients: 3/4 cup gluten-free rolled oats, ground into a flour 1 cup water 3/4 cup ... View Post
