Sometimes when I am out thrift shopping I look for things that will look pretty in photos to use as props. Now that my Shop is open,I wanted a piece of furniture to shoot photos to really show a piece that I am selling. Depending what I am shooting a photo of,I need something that would really show a piece. I found this table, yes it is a bit too tall to have next to the sofa, but I may change that and cut the legs down. I really don't have another spot for it,so may just pull it out as I need it. This was recent find, and I knew the color would work well with some of my lighter pieces. It's hard to photograph white on white. My pink chippy table does work great but it's nice to have another option. This table has amazing patina, love the worn black paint with a bit of green ... View Post
How To Start A Blog
I thought I would share how to start a blog or how I started a blog. When I first started my blog I was on blogger. It was a free service, the only thing I had to pay for was photo space. I take lots of photos and soon after starting my blog I ran out of space. I have to admit I knew nothing at all about blogging, nothing at all about writing and nothing, about photography. And as much as I would like to say I figured it out all on my own, well I would be lying. My sweet niece helped set up my first blog. But soon after I was playing around trying to figure things out, and eventually I did. It was very easy. Editing photos was a piece of cake too as soon as I found out about Picmonkey. And now, I am now using Lightroom along with Picmonkey. I use Lightroom for my most of my ... View Post
Why I Started My Blog
One of the reasons I started my blog two years ago,yes it was two years ago last month that I started this blog. Anyway one of the reasons I started my blog is that I wanted to open an online shop, selling items that I would enjoy in my own home. Pieces with vintage charm. (This Ice Cream bucket is now sold) As I shared my home and blogged about my design style I wanted to inspire others how to decorate their home using vintage pieces. Sharing how to easily change something found at a thrift shop or garage sale. ( These pretty dishes are now available in the shop) When I was searching to find a company to sell my pieces I was feeling a little intimidated. I wanted it to look as though it was part of my blog. And have a custom feel and look to it. I had heard about Big ... View Post

Setting Up Shop
Oh my things are a little crazy around here. My shop is set up,now I am trying to figure out how to add it to my page to share it with you all. As soon as that happens I will announce it here. But for now I thought I would give you a little peek at what's to come! You have no idea how hard it is to sell things you love. And this is one of those pieces. But I must admit that hunting for treasures is part of the fun! Love this newest find,it almost did not make it into my shop. More to come...... Joining: Savvy Southern Style ... View Post
Ice Cream And Roses
If you are patient you will find what you are looking for. Case in point a few years ago I was looking for a vintage ice cream bucket. You know how it is, you see a photo of something and you can imagine that piece in your own home. I could not get it out of my head! While I was out thrift shopping I found a vintage ice cream bucket, not the one I had hoped to find. So I painted it and made it look vintage. I have enjoyed that for the past couple of years. You can read about it here. Just the other day I was out running some errands and I decided to stop by one of my favorite antique shops. I was not looking to buy anything, but being cooped up inside for so long I needed to walk around and get inspired. One of my favorite dealers that always has the most amazing Shabby Chic ...
