I just shared these sweet little word cards and thought they would look cute as a holiday word tree. These were found recently at a local shop Tattered-tiques You may have gotten a sneak peek at them on my post A Simple Holiday table setting. As I said before I am going to have lots of fun with these cards! I clipped these word cards onto these twig branches using vintage silver clip on candle holders. My first idea was to hang these using twine, but then I would have had to make a hole in each of the cards and I really did not want to do that. These cards slip right on and the branches help keep them in place. After Christmas I may leave this up with the winter card and some of the other cards I bought, like shabby, chic, and farmhouse. Don't you love simple ideas! Don't ... View Post
The Scoop Handmade Christmas
I am thrilled to be a part of The Scoop Handmade Christmas! I recently shared my home Christmas tour part 1 and part 2 But I did not share this wreath I made to hang in my living room. This may come as a surprise but I am really not a crafty person. I don't always come up with ideas on making crafts. When I was volunteering at my daughters school for parties, I was the Mom that was there to help but had no creative ideas! This year I was thinking of making a peppermint candy wreath again this year. It is pretty and fun to make but I wanted something a little different, but with the same look. This is a very easy project. I used a 10 inch white styrofoam wreath. You can use any size wreath but I would recommend white,it is very forgiving if you have some spaces in between the ... View Post
A Simple Holiday Table Setting
When I set a table I like to keep it simple,So today I thought I would share how I set a simple holiday table setting. Just for fun I set my farmhouse table in my kitchen. I am using my pretty Homer Laughlin dish set I found months ago at a thrift shop. The pattern is called Chateau. I placed a lace table cloth down the center that is folded in half. This works much better on this long table, and is little more informal. Just for fun I added that chippy pink scale to the center of the table and place my fresh flowers on top. I found those vintage looking flash cards at Tattered-tiques a local shop. They have a great selection and I picked up quite a few. I will be sharing more of these soon! Then I added some fresh greens and a few vintage pink ornaments to my tablescape. I ... View Post
Christmas Home Tour Part 2
Are you ready for part 2 of my Christmas home tour? Very recently I was the lucky winner of Angel wings courtesy of Decor Steals. Debating on where to put them I decided to add them to my family room wall behind my sofa. I did like my vignette I had on the wall, but I have had it the same for several years. My first idea was to add my screen vertical with a wing on each side, and use another oval mirror I had. But after taking a photo of it I did not like the way it looked. Yes I do take photos of changes I make. When you take a photo of a room that you just changed , you will get another pair of eyes. Many times when something looks great to my eyes visually, after taking a photo it will look much different. That mirror was above my mantle, and again although I liked the way it ... View Post
Christmas Home Tour Part 1
Welcome to my Christmas home tour part 1 ! I decided to share it in two parts because although I decorated simply,I have lots to share. Are you ready? Well grab a cup coffee, tea or hot coco and lets begin! First I want to tell you that I am so glad you could join me,and I am thrilled to be a part of Jennifer Rizzo's party! Let's start out in my living room. Just like last year I am keeping my decor simple. I don't like little knick knacks all over my house especially at Christmas time. So I carefully choose what I want out. I needed a new tree this year and I was lucky to find this one at a thrift store. I love a tree at night! The lights glow and it looks so magical. I tried making a tree skirt this year but it was a disaster! After thinking about what I could use for a ... View Post
The Scoop
With my saddest regret I am here to tell you all that this will be my last time hosting the weekly scoop.I want to thank Anita for asking me to be a part of the scoop. It was a hard decision but one that needed to be done.I am so behind on projects and the opening of my on-line shop has been halted simply because I have not had the time to devote to setting it up.I want to work on setting up a schedule for posting,on my photos and so many projects that I did not have time to do.Sometimes when you are a blogger you are given opportunities to expand your blog and your name, and you want to do everything and be a part of it all but it's hard to do it all.Sometimes those opportunities can also take up lots of time, precious time.I was finding that I was hurrying trying to get a post together just ...
