As many of you know my kitchen is one of my favorite rooms in our home. I thought I would share with you the evolution of my kitchen. Some of you may not have been following along when I first started blogging and never saw the before photos. This is one room that changes often but now has more of a style than it did a few years ago. It was not an ugly kitchen and the cabinets were nice....but they were not me at all! This did not say farmhouse style...but more traditional. Yes this was before I added my ladder too! Soon after I painted my kitchen cabinets and my island. This was the first reveal. My kitchen cabinets were painted using Annie Sloan chalk paint in pure white. I waxed these three times using her clear wax. Let me tell you that using chalk paint will ... View Post
A Chandelier For The Hall
As you know I have been slowly changing out my builders selection of light fixtures in my home.I have been searching for a chandelier for my upstairs hallway but I was not finding anything that was my style. It needed to be similar in style as my foyer and landing chandelier. But I did not want them to match. It needed to be different and distinct. I received a email from Lamps.com They asked me if I would be interested in looking at their large selection of lights and fixtures. If I found something I liked I could share it with you all. I was a bit hesitant as I did not know if they would have anything that would fit my style. I was surprised at the amazing selection you have at Lamps.com Not only do they have a great selection but they have a great range of prices ... View Post
Brown Cow
I have wanted one of these rusty brown cow heads ever since Marian AKA Miss Mustard Seed shared hers in her kitchen. Kim from Savvy Southern Style has this same cow head in her kitchen too! She has her displayed on her beautiful stove hood HERE. I missed this on Decor Steals the first couple of times around and honestly thought it would not be available again. And then one day there is was! As you can see Marian totally inspired this look. When she first added it to her kitchen she had it on her chalk board wall. Now she has it on her beautiful stove hood. After I painted my wall inspired by Miss Mustard seed I added those frames and I was hoping that rusty brown cow head would soon come back as a deal on Decor Steals. I love this brown cow head! It looks ... View Post

Industrial Rack
Have you seen those wood industrial style racks? I have seen these pop up here and there in blog land and have wanted one ever since. Even though some say this is rack is industrial style it says farmhouse to me! And you know I am very eclectic with my style. But I knew this would fit in perfectly. I am very fortunate and have many resources for finding vintage treasures.Recently while visiting one of my favorite antique shops I came across this wood industrial rack. On the tag it said it was a baking rack but I have seen these called shoe racks. The price was not thrifty but it was very reasonable. And since my birthday is just around the corner I bought it. I had an idea of where to put this. But when I got home it was not looking like I thought it would in ... View Post
Silver Coffee Server
Recently while scouring through a thrift shop I spotted a gorgeous footed silver coffee server with double handles. The shaped reminded me of a trophy cup. I stopped dead in my tracks. Does that happen to you? I bet you think I am going to tell you that I swooped that gorgeous coffee pot up and stuck it in my cart. But I didn't. Nope the price was not thrifty so I walked away without buying a thing! All weekend long I could not get that coffee server out of my head! Visions of that coffee server hung in my head as I thought about how amazing it would look with a bouquet of flowers preferably roses propped inside. I thought about the pretty patina and how lovely it would look added to my chippy pink table in my kitchen. So after much thought on Monday I ... View Post
