Have you seen those wood industrial style racks? I have seen these pop up here and there in blog land and have wanted one ever since. Even though some say this is rack is industrial style it says farmhouse to me! And you know I am very eclectic with my style. But I knew this would fit in perfectly. I am very fortunate and have many resources for finding vintage treasures.Recently while visiting one of my favorite antique shops I came across this wood industrial rack. On the tag it said it was a baking rack but I have seen these called shoe racks. The price was not thrifty but it was very reasonable. And since my birthday is just around the corner I bought it. I had an idea of where to put this. But when I got home it was not looking like I thought it would in ... View Post
Silver Coffee Server
Recently while scouring through a thrift shop I spotted a gorgeous footed silver coffee server with double handles. The shaped reminded me of a trophy cup. I stopped dead in my tracks. Does that happen to you? I bet you think I am going to tell you that I swooped that gorgeous coffee pot up and stuck it in my cart. But I didn't. Nope the price was not thrifty so I walked away without buying a thing! All weekend long I could not get that coffee server out of my head! Visions of that coffee server hung in my head as I thought about how amazing it would look with a bouquet of flowers preferably roses propped inside. I thought about the pretty patina and how lovely it would look added to my chippy pink table in my kitchen. So after much thought on Monday I ... View Post
Mantle And Family Room Changes
One of my challenging pieces to decorate is my mantle. I change this the most often in my home depending on the seasons. Recently I found a pretty statue Venus de Milo While I was shopping in Door County a few weeks ago I came across this sweet painting that had to come home with me. The frame was gold I just painted it white.I love the added color to this room. Instead of hanging it I decided to lean it against the wall. I kept my statue on the other side with my white ironstone pitcher of dried roses. My French headboard was added to the front of my fireplace and I layered it with my metal gate piece. When I found out the photographers were coming to shoot photos of my home I decided to put that creamy white slip cover back on my sofa. It is not ... View Post

Vintage Style And A Few Changes
Vintage style would describe my style for sure! A couple of months ago a fellow blogger and friend of mine gave me a heads up on photographers that were coming to our area to shoot photos of her home. She gave me the information and encouraged me to contact them. About a week or so later they told me that they would be coming to shoot photos of my home too! I am not going to share this bloggers name.I am going to let her share her own story. But I am very thankful that she shared this with me. One thing I love about the blogging community is that we help and support each other! I don't have many behind the scenes photos. I asked if I could take some photos and well....the photographers are camera shy. I was able to snap a quick shot of some of there ... View Post
Milk Paint Chalk Paint And A Wood Table
Last week my daughter and I went to a couple of garage sales. And after the first one I spotted this vintage wood table. The price was a steal at 10.00! I really did not need another table but this is one of my weaknesses! I brought it home and knew where I would put it...in my studio! The table that was in my studio is not going anywhere I stored it away for now. As you can see the table was not painted when I found it I snapped a photo of the before just as I started to paint it. Yes I almost forgot a before photo....again! It was in poor shape and the patina was not nice. I decided to use a mixture of Louis Blue and Duck Egg blue and a bit of Pure white Annie Sloan chalk paint. After I based coated this with chalk paint I waxed it with Miss Mustard Seeds ... View Post
