Vintage China A New Treasure

July 28, 2013

The other day my daughter and I decided to take a quick trip to the thrift shop.I am often lucky and can find lots of cool vintage treasures. And on this day as I was in line waiting to pay for a few things I found I spotted  a display case full of lovely china was sitting there staring at me to take it home.....really it's true! And as I stood there in line waiting to pay my daughter gave me many reasons of why I should not buy this china. Mom you have enough.....how much more do you need? True I do ...but recently I sold and donated pieces I no longer wanted. It sounds a bit mean doesn't it. I got tired of some beautiful pieces so off they go until the next pieces steal my heart. But that pretty bluish green color was melting my heart. And that sweet floral ... View Post

Adding Some Bling With Chandeliers

July 24, 2013

Chandeliers have that special sparkle that makes my heart sing. And I have to confess...I have been hiding a secret from you all.Something I was embarrassed about and still cannot show you. Really...... We had some and still do have a few not so pretty light fixtures that the builder put in. You know those cheap ugly brass fixtures. Still I cannot share with you the before photos. Slowly as my budget allows I have been replacing them. Very recently I came across two matching chandeliers. I liked the style and size but......the glass prisms were painted! And not in a good way.Isn't that horrible! Sorry the photos are a bit blurry these were taken while I was on a ladder. We had an electrician come to hang these. So the changes were made right ... My New Dishwasher And Some Changes

July 23, 2013

Well if you follow along with me on my facebook page you would have heard that  our dishwasher bit the dust. Yes we were doing our dishes by hand. When I told my daughter we would have to wash dishes by hand she said "Like in the olden days". Yes just like in the olden days....am I that old!? After some researching we decided on this Kitchenaide dishwasher. And no this is not a sponsored post. I have to tell you so far I am very happy with this.It is really quiet.I would not say silent as you can hear it a bit as the water is filling. But after that it is almost silent. And the dishes come out clean and dry! Hoping this one will last longer than our last one. I have been making some changes around here. Do you remember I painted my kitchen wall with chalkboard ... View Post

ABOUT THIS BLOG

ABOUT THIS BLOG

Hi I'm Anne.
I started this blog many years ago to share my passion for home decor. My tastes have changed and so did I.
We recently moved to Florida and we are starting a new chapter. My main focus on this blog has shifted. With that I'll be sharing more than home decor.
You'll see makeup tips, skincare, fashion and a little bit of decor as well. You can check out my Youtube channel as well and follow me along. I'll leave all of my older posts up as a reference. But you'll see lots of changes.
