The Good The Bad And The Ugly
The good the bad and the ugly..... well maybe not ugly but some good and bad news to share. About a year ago I moved into my space at an antique mall. I was not planning on doing it.But I felt like the right opportunity came around and so I jumped in. I really enjoyed hunting for pieces painting them and watching them find new homes. Looking for unique treasures was fun too! But when I did my yearly taxes I was stunned to see what was really profit and what was not. I decided to step away and search my soul for what l lies ahead. Today was moving day and I am fully moved out of my space. So thankful to have had the opportunity. Because while I was there I met some wonderful, amazing and talented people whom many I now call friend. It's not the end I ... View Post

Shabby French Farmhouse Home Tour
If I had to describe my style in only three words it would be shabby French farmhouse.Gina from Shabby Creek Cottage is hosting a home tour linky party.I thought I would share my home with you all . We built our home 7 years ago. When we first moved in I thought about changing my style a bit. My past home was very pastel and had a romantic shabby chic vibe to it. I decided to go a bit darker and more neutral with my colors. And I also decided to do less vintage style and bring in newer pieces. What was I thinking?? Ever since I was a little girl I have always been drawn to older things. Chippy furniture...pieces with detail and charm. What I thought I wanted was not working. I went out and bought a can of paint that ended up being many cans of paint and ... View Post
Homemade Granola
As we continue our cooking in the kitchen series my daughter and I decided to make homemade granola. We have had this recipe for many years and never made it until now. We changed it a bit to make it our own. This recipe is very forgiving you can substitute nuts and dried berries and raisins to make it your own. You can cut the recipe in half to make a smaller batch. This is a tasty treat but not a healthy snack. Homemade Granola 1/2 cup of oil 1 cup (2 sticks of butter) 2 tablespoons molasses 1 tablespoon vanilla extract 1 cup brown sugar 1 cup honey 1/2 teaspoon salt 2 pounds regular rolled oats 1/2 cup sunflower seeds 1 cup chopped almonds 2 cups Grape Nuts Cereal 1 pound coconut flakes 1 cup dried cranberries 1/2 cup ... French Centerpiece
When I found this chippy pink bench the first thing that came to my mind was French centerpiece. Oh yes I have been changing things around again. Ever so slightly though. I came across an old chippy petite pink bench I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it. Something French with a little romance and of course farmhouse too! These are great little pieces as they can be used for so many things. One being to add a little height to a vignette. I knew just where I wanted to add this. And you know how head over heals I am not only for chippy paint but chippy pink paint it is one of my weaknesses. This has the perfect patina. I decided to add a vintage galvanized bucket with this vignette. But leaving it plain was not working for me. It needed just ... View Post
