Today while I was out in the garden shooting some photos I just about stepped on this toad. Actually I thought the toad was a frog. I get the two mixed up. According to the internet search I did this looks like a fowler's toad. I am always happy to see frogs or toads in my garden. They love to eat insects. I don't like insects especially mosquitoes! I am thrilled to share with you my lilacs! Yes they have finally started to bloom and they smell amazing! I also planted some lilacs this year. But they are still quite small. A dogwood tree was planted a few years ago.It is really starting too look nice! I was hoping to share what I have been working on. Nothing big just some small changes I have made to our laundry room. I found some ... View Post
Memorial Day
I shared this post a year ago and wanted to share it with you today. Memorial Day has special meaning to me my Grandfather fought in WWII. He never talked about it most war veterans don't . What they saw and what they fought for is too painful to remember. This will last them their whole life. These Men were boys fighting for a war...fighting for our freedom. Women too have made this same sacrifice. I can't imagine the fear, and pain that they endured. Even after fighting and coming home. I Salute them...each and everyone! Thank you.... For our Freedom..... For risking your life to save Ours....... For enduring the pain so I don't have to......... For keeping our Country Safe.............. For keeping our Country Free.......... Thank you from the ... View Post
Mason Jar and Lemon Water
While out shopping for new cushions for our front porch chairs I found this water dispenser that looks like a mason jar perfect for lemon water! This would be great for ice tea or lemonade too but our favorite drink in this house is water. Yes I do drink my coffee everyday however I am the only one in this house that drinks it. I find myself drinking lemon water more often this time of the year. Usually I have a pitcher out filled with lemon slices and water but when I came across this mason jar water dispenser I fell in love with the color and style. Perfect for my kitchen don't you think! It adds a perfect pop of color. They do sell this in clear but I really love this color! This area makes a great water station! More lemon slices ready to add if ... View Post
Outdoor Decorating Ideas
Wanting to change our front porch and was searching my brain to think of some ideas for decorating our outdoor porch. Right now it is the only outdoor area we have to decorate. To get some ideas for decorating our front porch I ran into one my favorite thrift shops in town. The owner Judy has a great eye and I knew she would give me some great ideas to get my creative juices flowing. My front porch is not very large. It can be difficult to decorate such a small area. Judy gave me the idea to use a table here. As soon as she said that my first thought was farmhouse table! This table was actually in my dining room. But I think it will work perfectly here. Those wicker chairs I have had out here for the past years and I still like them. Although I think ... View Post
Farmers Market Lilac Flower Arrangement And Tip
My Lilac bush has not bloomed yet this year. And since it was a lovely day on Saturday I decided to go to our farmers market. While I was there I spotted these lovely Lilac flowers in this beautiful arrangement. I knew this lilac arrangement would look perfect on my farmhouse table! This particular vendor is there every week.I love all of her flower arrangements. This week she only had these beautiful Lilac flowers in beautiful ball glass jar arrangements. It is usually a bit more to take the jar.So I opted not to and decided to bring these lovely lilacs home and use my own jar.She did have a recycled tomato sauce jar with water so it would stay well until I drove home. I love this big lilac flower arrangement. It is so nice and full and the aroma is ... View Post
Sea glass
Many years ago while browsing through a flea market I came across my first look at sea glass. I thought it was the most beautiful color I had ever seen. A soft bluish green with a bit of a haze. The lady I bought them from told me that if I washed the sea glass bottles really good all that would be clean. Now why would I want to do that. The soft haze is part of the patina on this glass. My collection is quite small but I love grouping them together. I prefer to keep them just as. Believe it or not I have never used these bottles as vases. I guess I am taken with the beauty of the sea glass color all alone. But as you can see a pink rose does look really sweet with these petite sea glass bottles. I also love finding the vintage clear glass ... View Post
