A Little Mishap And A Blogger Thank you!
I recently made some changes to my wordpress site. When doing so it also changed the way you can view it. I was told that my posts no longer show up on blogger blog roll. I put the word out to two of my blogging buddies. And they were kind enough to give a shout out and let others know they can still follow me through facebook. I share my blog posts there and also through bloglovin. A HUGE thank you to Rosemary of Villabarnes and Anita of Cedar Hill Ranch. One thing I have learned about being in a blogging community is that we all stick together. If you need help or a prayer they are with you all the way! Thank you so much ladies for helping this girl out. It really means allot to me. If anyone else wants to spread the word I would really appreciate ... View Post
How To Distress Using Paint
I would like to show you a easy way to distress using paint. This is not your typical way of distressing either. Let's just say this is cheating a little ;-) Originally I was going to paint this coco but then decided on Annie Sloan Duck egg blue. Don't worry I did not part with my farm table. But I wanted to take a nice photo of it before it is off to the market finding a new home. I am so happy I decided to paint this duck egg blue. And why did I decide to paint it duck egg blue? Well because I did not have enough coco or any other color and so I grabbed this can of duck egg blue. And I am happy that I did. See that bit of white? That's old white.I just added a bit to highlight it. Want to know a secret? I love the look of a painted piece with just a bit of ... View Post
Question about comments
I have been replying back on posts through my email. But for some reason many are coming back undelivered. I wanted to reply through my email because I thought it would be better than to have the comments area clogged up with my reply's making it more difficult for you to scroll down and leave a comment. But since my emails are not going through it may be the only way to respond. I LOVE reading each and everyone of your comments. But I am wondering if I should only reply back to those who are asking a specific question. What do you think? How do you feel if I do not reply to your comments? I am torn at what do to. Would you prefer I reply on the posts? Or just reply on the questions? Your thoughts please :-) ... View Post
A French Gilded Trunk
Guess what the new hot color is? Pink! I am very fond of this color. But I only add it as accents in my home. As I was painting things and getting ready for the Vintage Market I came across a trunk I had. It was....okay but needed to be freshened up. I have been wanting to try Annie Sloan Antoinette with a splash of gold as an accent for sometime now. And when I saw this piece I knew it would be the perfect candidate! This trunk was painted all over with Annie Sloan Antoinette and Old white. I mixed the two colors until it was the pink I wanted. I then painted the framed area old white and highlighted those appliques with gold wax. Isn't it pretty! The top of this trunk is fabric and I painted that too. Sealed it all up with ... View Post
An Olive Bucket and Lavender
Very recently I came across a deal on Decor Steals If you have not heard of Decor Steals it is an online shop that features cool and unique finds daily. But you have to get act quickly because things sell out really fast. I wanted to share two of my recent deals. That olive bucket and the lavender inside are the two recent deals. I knew I wanted that bucket when the deal popped up and I also knew what I wanted to do with it. Adding lavender is not an original idea but it was the look I wanted. Although this could be used for so many other things ! I love the patina on this and it is quite heavy ! A pair of these would look amazing on a front porch ! I love the details ! The lavender smells amazing! And yes that is a new farm table I ... View Post
