White Sofa Slipcover And A Mantle Change
Common GroundI am slowly adding more white to my home.A while ago I added a new slip cover to our dated sofa in our den.Not ready to share photos of the den just yet. After adding it I started to wonder what it would look like if I put in on our leather/fabric sofa in our family room.I knew it was not the exact size. But I wanted to give it a test drive to see if I would like it.I really had to work with the arms to make this fit.It is a tad small. This is a much lighter color than my slipcover is in our living room HERE.It's more of a creamy white. Those pillows are just old feed sacks I stuffed the sofa pillows in.I love the bright look. But I am not sure if this color is going to work for me in this room.I am a bit of a neat freak.Yep I admit it.And although I hear people say you can just ... I am so honored and I really appreciate being featured on your beautiful blogs and facebook too!I know I said I was not going to take my Christmas decor down until after the holidays. But my fresh greens were no longer fresh. My Husband went back to work and my daughter was having a sleepover with a friend. So yesterday I decided I would start packing some things up.Nothing ever goes back the way you had it before.Which is a good thing since I like to change things up a bit.Especially this time of the ... Winter Whites Time For Renewal
We still have our Christmas decor up.I did a simplistic look this year and even though it is still up past Christmas it is very enjoyable. We don't take things down until after the new year.It will actually stay up until my daughter heads back to school.Mr. Cottage was shocked to hear that many people take there decor down right after Christmas.I had to fill him in on the fact that it is true! Since my daughter is home on her school break I thought it would be a good idea to go through toys and things that she has outgrown. It was not an easy task.It never is.She kept things that are really special to her.And she selected items to be donated to a charity so that they can be loved by someone else. Why do stuffed animals seem to multiply so much!I am proud of her it's never easy to look back to ... What a Year!
I wanted to share my year in review. It has not quite been a full year of blogging for me that will come in January. This was my first post HEREMy home looked much different than it does now. I had so much to learn in the beginning and still have much to learn!Like responding to comments.I wanted to respond to each and everyone one and I still do!But should I respond on my blog?Should I respond through my email? What do I say?How do I address all of my readers? As I said in my first post I am not a writer. When I write I write the way I speak. When I started this blog I wanted to share my love of decorating and creating. And room by room I have transformed my home into the home I have always wanted.I am working on my photography skills too.But I think I have gotten much better since my first ... Apple Cinnamon Cream Cheese French Toast
Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.I can't believe it is over already! But still looking forward to celebrating with friends this weekend! On Christmas morning after opening gifts I decided to surprise my family with a special breakfast. We don't usually do a big breakfast on Christmas morning but this was a present to them from me.My husband has commented that he really enjoys the stuffed French toast they serve at a local restaurant. So I decided to try a recipe myself with a little twist.I bought some bakery Cinnamon loaf bread at our local grocery store. And I found this recipe for the fillingHEREThe recipe for the filling is pretty simple cream cheese and powdered sugar.I have to be honest after seeing this recipe for the filling I just went for it and did not measure the ...
