Today I'm finally getting started on my holiday baking. This year we decided to try a few different recipes. One of them is for cinnamon biscotti.I have never made biscotti before but decided to try it this year.I am making lots of batches to give out as gifts this year. Most of our presents this year are homemade.Let me tell you our home smells heavenly with the smell of cinnamon and sugar. That dish is vintage I found it recently at a thrift shop.It is restaurant ware. Love the gray and white colors. It has a french look to it. Another wonderful thing we made today was cinnamon roasted almonds...YUM! The fragrance from these almonds is wonderful too! These are a delicious treat that will also be going out as gifts! This is just the beginning of our baking. We have lots more to do.The recipes ... View Post
No Glitz No Glam Christmas
Keeping it really simple this Christmas season no glitz or glam around here just using what I have and nature as my inspiration. This is our petite tree we have in our family room this year.No lights no ornaments just as is.I placed it in a vintage sap bucket and added that number 3.I also wrote Joyeux Noel Merry Christmas in French.I love the reflection of this in my vintage mirror hanging on that door. This year I decided to hang our stockings on my ladder in our dining room. These sweet crochet stockings were all found at a thrift store last year. A very simple center piece. Some fresh Christmas greens with a few scattered bows for a little bit of color. The silver platter and mirrored pedestal add a bit of sparkle.I am sure you noticed some changes on my blog.I needed to clean it up a ... French Charm Bedroom Reveal
When I first started blogging almost a year ago I had no idea I was about to transform my home.I was happy with the way it was at the time until I saw photos on my blog and realized my home was not really a reflection of myself. And slowly I have been changing things the way I have always wanted them to be.Years and years ago before the white look was popular I was quite fond of it.But I was afraid to jump in and change things.I feared it would cost too much and maybe I would decide I would not like it.All the while in my mind I wished I had an all white home.Last February I made some changes in my bedroom. They were subtle changes and it sparked an idea that changed my whole home.I recently painted my pine bed.I used Miss Mustard Seeds paint the color is linen.I used this on my bed and ... Nordic French Country Cottage Christmas
My look for my home this Christmas is Nordic French Country Cottage.I actually think that would best describe the look and transformation of my home too. This table is a recent find. You know how much I love these old chippy white farmhouse tables.I found this in my friends Jeannie and Lisa's booth the Gilded Junque Yard .It was a steal of a price too! After moving things around for Christmas I placed the farm table from my kitchen here and knew after the holidays I would have a hard time putting things back the way they were. Now I have two of these tables one here and the other will remain in my kitchen. At the moment the other is in my laundry room.I added a sweet nativity set I found at a thrift shop.I was going to sell this but knew I had to keep it.So off went my older set to my space.I ... Crystal Icicles
As you know I have been using fresh greens in my home this year for Christmas.I have several metal galvanized buckets and decided to use these for my greens. One of the the buckets has been placed on a shelf in my living room.I decided it needed a little Christmas bling so I hung some crystals from a vintage chandelier on the branches.I think it looks like icicles hanging from the branches don't you?Just added some twigs to the mix too.I have this branch in a floral foam so I can keep adding water to keep this from drying out.Working on Christmas gifts that we are sending out to family.I soon will be baking too! What are you working on?Thank you Jocie from One Project Closer The Humble Brag party for featuring my Christmas Tree in a Trunk .Visit Jocie to find about about her giveaway for ... View Post
On Angels Wings
Back in the summer as I was out junking I came across three sets of Angel wings. One of them had feathers.I knew just when I would use these and I put them away.As I was thinking of what I wanted to do for Christmas I pulled these out. I glued a pair of these together. I thought I would hang these with a silk ribbon from my vintage easel I found at a barn sale back in the summer. Keeping it simple this Christmas season and adding some feathered art! This is displayed on my landing.I wanted to thank Kerryanne from Shabbylicious Patti @ Ivy and Elephants Miriam illions from Hometalk and Aimee from Twigg Studios for featuring my blog !
