I challenged myself recently with a visit to our local Lowes. I was looking to find something that I could repurpose, something very easy that anyone could do. And as soon as I walked into the nursery at Lowes, I found these terra cotta saucers. I knew they would make great coasters for my porch. Here is my easy diy coasters project. Aren't these great coasters already? I fell for the shape of these saucers. And the fact that these will stack nicely as well when I am not using them. Also, no moisture will drip off. But they need to get pretty. Are you ready? First I pulled out my Vintage Green from my signature paint line. Oh yeah, this is the revised version, how do you like the color? I painted one coat on these terra cotta saucers. Once these were dry, I added an ... View Post
Ruffled Lilac And A Vacation
Today I am sharing Ruffled Lilac and a vacation. First let's talk about Ruffled Lilac. As you know recently two new colors were added to my signature color line. Today I am going to share one..... Ruffled Lilac. I can't wait to paint a beautiful French Provincial piece with Ruffled Lilac, but I have had no luck at all finding pieces. Maybe I am getting too picky. Anyway, I wanted to show you a piece painted with it, so I pulled out this black mirror that I had. Nothing special, but I do love the patina in the glass. I painted the frame with Ruffled Lilac, then added White Lace to the decorative trim on the corners. Once it was dry I decided to add a little Muddy Pond to the frame. I needed to dirty the frame up just a bit to give it a vintage look that matched the ... View Post
Fabulous Furniture Friday Feature
Welcome to Fabulous Furniture Friday Feature! Today, I am thrilled to introduce you to Stephanie, owner, Caledonia Vintage Marketplace. Take it away Stephanie! I started looking into getting an antique booth about 8 years ago. I found a shop that was 40 minutes away that had a huge amount of foot traffic and a large following. I wanted something to do to express my creativity as I was feeling a little stifled as an ex-professional artist-now stay-at-home mom. I researched vintage design trends and found what I thought was my idea and expression of shabby chic. (Totally different from how I would describe that design trend today! ) I hunted, collected, and gathered for months until I got my small booth. I did pretty well for a new comer and ... View Post
Chippy Blue And Vintage Green
Let's talk about Chippy Blue and Vintage Green. As you know those are two of the colors in my signature paint line. Lately I have had a few questioning the difference between the two colors. When I created this paint line I wanted really soft muted pastel colors. Chippy Blue represented my love of chippy paint, and those amazing old vintage blue pieces we find at the flea markets. As for Vintage Green, besides finding those old vintage green pieces at a flea market. My inspiration for Vintage Green was also an old chippy piece I already had. So today I thought I would share a project with these two colors side by side. I've had this little bench for several years, and since going through and purging I stumbled upon it once again. Yes it was hidden in a sea of...stuff. I ... View Post

Projects Purging And Ramblings
Have you ever been ready to start a project, only to have a detour? Yes this post is all about projects, purging and ramblings. Mostly those detours are when you are searching for products or piece for your project. And let me tell you I am not patient went it comes to waiting. Wow that doesn't sound nice does it. But it's reality, and I am keeping it real. Once I get an idea in my head, I am ready to start. But it doesn't always work out that way. And there are times that the idea that I had in mind doesn't go as planned. Yeah I have many of those projects that never really make it on my blog, and I don't want to share them. Not because I am embarrassed, well I guess I'm sort of embarrassed. So where am I going with all of this rambling? I guess I need to share what's been ... View Post
