It still feels like summer, but boots and pumpkins are all the rage right now. I must admit I am still enjoying any bit of heat we have. Last year our winter was apocalyptic....yes it was that cold! Extreme cold temperatures that were way below average. We made history as being the coldest on record! So when I hear people say how hot they are I just think about the cold one we had last year. Please don't mind me if I want to embrace it a little longer. And my pinks won't go away....nope I will work with them as the seasons change. Yes I do enjoy fall.........wearing my favorite boots. My riding boots,I shot this photo myself....it's not easy taking a selfie while holding flowers. My new...old pair of cowgirl boots! Of course I am excited to wear these old ... View Post
A Beautiful Day In The Country
A beautiful day in the country was the perfect setting for my photo shoot. One of the perks of being a blogger is the opportunity to work with amazing companies. I am thrilled to be partnering with Heritage Lace. I know many of you have heard of this amazing company and I bet you are familiar with the lovely lace curtains, tablecloths and runners they sell. I recently shared my dining room with my beautiful lace curtains from Heritage Lace. But they sell so much more than that! Just for fun I thought I would shoot a few photos outdoors,it was a beautiful day here out in the country. We are blessed to live out in the Country surrounded by beautiful trees and tall grasses. This is just down the road from me,wish it was my back yard. I packed up my car with this farm table, a ... View Post
Are You Ready To Shop?
Are you ready to Shop? It's been a busy summer and over that time I decided to take a hiatus from my shop White Lace Cottage. I just did not have the time to ship out orders as we did lot's of traveling. Now that summer is coming close to an end,and I can't even believe I am saying that,it's time to re-open the shop. I am adding this sweet set of white vintage pitchers. I use pitchers just like these all the time in my home, from using them as a vase to creatively using them for art supplies. And of course they look pretty just as they are on a table or in a china cabinet. Yes this lovely vintage light set is going into the shop too. I have never seen a pair of lights like this before, the color and patina is pure perfection and yes they do work. I love this sweet little ... View Post
Shabby Chic Memo Board
While out shopping recently I saw one of those cute memo boards,I am sure you have seen it a frame with chicken wire. When I saw it a light bulb went off in my head and I started thinking about a shabby chic memo board. I started looking a some of the frames I have saved and came across one that I thought would work perfectly. This is the frame I had on my mantle recently before I changed things around. It is nice and large and is quite heavy. I went through my basket of scrap fabrics and found a two pretty patterns. One is just a soft pink,I guess that's not a pattern and the other has sweet petite rose's. Both are from Rachel Ashwell's Simply Shabby Chic line. I pulled out my fabric shears and started making small cuts into the fabric, then I ripped off the pieces. I wanted a ... View Post
A Few Changes And Heritage Lace
Let's go back a little bit,you remember that I shared a few changes on my mantle, well that mirror change lead me not only to a change on the mantle in my dining room but also a few other changes, which includes Heritage Lace. I found some fabric a few months ago and I decided to use it to recover my dining room chairs. These next photos show the fabric I had on previously. This is the new fabric,a soft creamy color with turquoise green and blue colors. It's a lovely mix that is a little faded and looks old. My chair is not dirty, but when I painted this I used dark wax to make it look old and aged. This is such an easy way to change a room. I really need to share this on a tutorial video. I know many of you may know how to recover a chair, but my Mom was just asking me how to ... View Post
