Back from vacation and I thought I would give you a few tips on planning your Disney trip. Many of you know that recently my husband and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary,we decided to celebrate at our happy place Walt Disney World. Our first trip together was in 1991 way before my daughter was even born,we had an amazing time but did not return until 2005 with my daughter on her first trip. Since then it has been our favorite place to vacation. (I took this shot while my husband was driving, we were coming back from the NASA space center. We rented a car and spent the day there, more on that tomorrow) This was my daughters 5th trip and our 6th trip. Since we were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary we decided to do a split stay at two resorts. Five days at The ... View Post
Taking Photos Of Rooms
When I first started my blog I was pretty new to taking photos of rooms,I took many photos of my daughter when she was small. It was fun dressing her up in pretty outfits, using props and things and doing a photo shoot. Sort of like playing with a doll in the early days. She had so many outfits, too many to wear before she grew out of them. So I would take photos of her in the outfits so I could remember her wearing them. Lighting is always key in photography, and I want to start practicing taking photos of people. I recently found this sweet pink apron and it had to come home with me. Inside the tag reads neat and tidy, wonder if this was a uniform apron someone wore. The photo is a bit blurry because my subject,my daughter kept moving. I want to keep practicing so I can get ... My Most Treasured Finds
Spending time with my family this week and nearing the fourth of July can you believe it? So I thought I would re-post one of my recent most treasured finds, hope you enjoy it! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What is it with me and vintage scales? My daughter had an early dismissal from school today so on the way to the library I stopped by to see a good friend who also owns a beautiful resale shop. And as I walked in I saw this old scale. Not very pretty, this was taken in my studio and as you can see it's a little messy. Even though the dirty gray was not the color I wanted I decided to bring it home and freshen it up with a little paint. At first I was thinking of painting it white which would look lovely. Then I thought about a soft light shade of pink. I ... View Post
Paul De Longpre American Beauty
My master bathroom is pretty neutral with colors, recently I came across this Paul De Longpre American Beauty print. The frame was red and that is really what attracted me to this piece, but I was not sure about adding it to my master bathroom since my bathroom it is pretty neutral. But I don't follow rules like making sure if you add a color to a room to add three pieces with that color. Nope I am going to do what I like and what pleases my eye. And this is in my master bathroom anyway, the only people that will see it is me and my husband. This is just a small photo of the before, yes I painted the frame, love the red but it was a little too bold for my bathroom in my opinion. I just added a coat of.....anyone....anyone...yes Vintage Market and Design paint color Porcelain. It's a ... View Post
White Vase
I recently shared that I don't normally use vases for my flowers,I love using unique pieces, but I just could not pass up on this sweet vintage white vase. I knew a small bouquet of flowers would look beautiful in this vintage white vase. Not planning on keeping this tray or this vintage white vase here on this wash stand table, but I knew it would make a beautiful spot for my photos. All of my favorite things together in a photo! Love adding a vase or pitcher full of flowers on top of a mirror. The refection adds a touch of bling, and a bit of sparkle. I am in love with the details on this sweet vase, yet it's simplicity is so elegant. This sweet vase does seem to work beautifully with this French tray. These roses are from the market, many of my rose's died over the ... View Post
French Vanity Tray
I never know what I am going to come across when I am out treasure hunting, like this sweet French vanity tray, not always knowing what I will find and what I will do with a piece when I find it. Are you like that? Do you go out treasure hunting never knowing what treasures you will find? Or do you have an agenda of things on a ever going wishlist that seems to get longer? When I first spotted this I was not sure it was coming home with me,I was looking at this tray and as I picked it up a gentleman told me that he was buying it. At first I was a bit disappointed but something told me to keep shopping and come back. So I did,I continued shopping came back and that gentleman had changed his mind because it was still still there on the shelf. Honestly I am not quite sure what ... View Post
