These crystal chandeliers look amazing in my shabby romantic kitchen. Quite a change isn't it! As I said in my previous post, this was allot of work putting them together. Yes those chandeliers had to be put together first and then hung. Doing the electrical part and hanging them was very easy, but putting them together was not. I placed the crystals on these a little different than I did when I revealed the first one HERE. This is what my kitchen looked before. And here is another look at the after. When we first moved here we had very cheap light fixtures,so I replaced them with lights I found at thrift shops. They were affordable and were much nicer than what we had. I waited until I found what I wanted and could afford them. These were not expensive at all ,and as I ... View Post
Kitchen Chandelier
Today I added a crystal chandelier to our kitchen. I have been wanting to change out the chandeliers in our kitchen for awhile now,but I could not find chandeliers that I thought would work until recently. I love vintage chandeliers, but often they need to be re-wired and I don't know how to do that. Taking it in to have someone else re-wire it would be an added cost. This was quite a project because little did I know until I took this out of the box that this needed to be fully assemble. I guess I missed that description on the outside of the box. Every single arm of this light had to be wired and attached. As I was putting this together I decided to add the crystals at the very end because all that added weight would make it difficult for me to hang. Yes I did this all by ... View Post
Beadboard And Decor Steals
This post is going to be all over the place, lots to talk about today! It's a beautiful spring day here today, but I had so much to do no time to relax. I am not quite done with my kitchen beadboard wallpaper yet. I was distracted with things like cleaning, laundry, shopping, cooking, spending time with my family you get the picture. But I thought I would share the progress so far. After hanging the wallpaper I added trim to the base and top of the island. When it's completed I will share closer photos. I don't have an electric saw I cut the trim pieces using a hand saw. It was pretty easy because the wood is soft. The paint used for the beadboard portion of my island is Vintage Market Designs paint in porcelain, which is a very pale pink. And you can see it shows up very pale on ... View Post

Some Thoughts And A Candle
It's a beautiful day here today, finally spring has arrived. Sitting here with some thoughts and a candle. Recently I noticed Rachel Ashwell had two new candle scents out from her Simply Shabby Chic line,I looked and looked and finally found some. One scent is Gardenia and the other scent is Red currant. Both smell amazing and they are lifting my spirits a bit today. Okay I am going to share something with you all today, keeping it real. Sometimes as a blogger you look at your numbers a little too much. They go up and they go down. I let myself get too concerned with the numbers and it stresses me out. Feeling like I should be doing more, sharing more. So I started thinking maybe you are getting a little bored with what I am sharing. And so I am wondering what YOU would like ... View Post
