During these long winter months of nesting I start the process of painting and purging. I am not painting any walls,Oh maybe just a few touch ups. But I will start moving things from one room to the next, and even giving things a fresh coat of paint. I was getting tired of my dining room hutch color and decided to brighten it up with a fresh coat of paint. I used a combination of Annie Sloan Pure white and Old Ochre paint. My table was painted a few years ago with latex paint and I wanted to match it as much as I could. But I only wanted to use the paints I already had on hand. I am still not finished,my cabinet needs a few coats of wax. As I was painting I decided to change things around a little in here too. Yes my wall clock also received a coat of paint, pure white Annie ... View Post
No Paint Required
A few days ago I shared tips on saving money when decorating.Today I wanted to share my living room changes no paint required. Sometimes the only thing you need to do is shop your house, and for this little change no paint was required. This time of the year when the weather is cold and gloomy I start thinking about spring. I will start adding bits of color to my rooms. I decided to hang that dormer vent a little higher, and add an old wood screen and antique painting above the sofa. Easy To Make Banner
A recent trip to my sweet friends shop Lucky Junk inspired me to create this easy to make banner. These cold winter days have me thinking about crafting, even though I don't consider myself a crafter. The ideas started swirling in my head as soon as I saw boxes and boxes of vintage piano rolls. These were only 4.00,I bought lots of boxes and I may buy more. I love the look of vintage paper and they look so pretty just displayed in a basket or in a wood crate. One of the paper rolls is on my table as a runner. I know I will be using these for other projects, but I love the idea of creating a banner. To make this easy banner you need a piano roll. Letters to trace. Carbon copy tracing paper. Tracing tool. Sharpie or fine point marker. First decide which font you would like your ... View Post
