Last year I shared my home via Christmas tour. I thought it would be fun to look back. I am finishing up some photos and hoping to share my home via tour next week with you all. Here was my home December 2012. Welcome to my home so glad you could stop by.Before we start the tour would you like some hot chocolate? That little vintage honey jar is filled with homemade hot chocolate mix. It will only take a minute to warm it up.Would you like some marshmallows or candy canes in your hot chocolate? Since we are already in the kitchen why not start the tour here. In keeping things simple I used lots of fresh tree greens. Vodka paperwhites and a Christmas tree. Hmm sort of sounds like an introduction to a joke but this is actually a really good tip! It does not involve a Christmas tree,more on that in a bit. My Mom  shared this tip with me. She was out shopping for her paperwhite bulbs when the lady at the nursery shared this tip with her. The trick is to add  alcohol that has 40%  such as vodka,gin or rum. Don't add beer or wine because there is too much sugar. You should do this as you are planting them. 1 part alcohol to 7 parts water to a gravel container. I may still try this even though mine are already planted. I will let you know what happens. I am in love with my thrift shop Christmas tree! Last year I had sticker shock. I was looking to replace a tree I had for many years but I could not believe the prices! Thinking I would get a deal I waited until after Christmas hoping to find one. But I was not happy with what was left and the prices were still too high for me. I thought I would have better luck shopping in a thrift shop this year. But most of them I was seeing were in bad condition and still over priced! Then I found this one. This is a good quality faux tree. The branches look and feel like a real tree. This tree also came with the ornaments. I just added some pine cones and berries. The cost of this thrift shop tree was 85.00 including the ornaments and a storage bag. Which I think is an amazing price ... View Post

I found this shabby vintage looking tinsel Christmas tree years ago. It is a very simple tinsel  tree so not much is needed to decorate it. Last year I just added silver mercury glass ornaments. This year I decided to add my pink ornaments since changing my bedroom. I have had these tucked away for years it was fun bringing them back out again! These ornaments are some of my favorites. They all look vintage but they actually are not. Well come to think of it they are 23 year old so I guess they are sort of vintage. Love this sweet Santa,have you ever seen a pink Santa?
