Jeanne d’ Arc style

September 8, 2013

Have you ever come across something that speaks to you? This statue said Jeanne d' Arc style  to me as soon as  I laid my eyes  on it. Such a sweet face....chippy patina and the color is perfection. Jeanne d' Arc living is one of  my favorite magazines to find inspiration. This statue looks a bit French to me. Although I knew this was a Catholic statue. I was not sure of the meaning and I am still not sure what it symbolizes. My friend thought it was silly to pick up a statue not knowing it's meaning. But I fell for the beauty of this piece.....still at first....believe it or not I was a bit hesitant. Should I get it or not? It is quite heavy so I placed it on the counter as I continued to browse the store. Do you do that? Contemplate whether you ... View Post

Stay Focused

September 4, 2013

That is the key......stay focused. When I started my blog almost two years ago....it will be two years in January. I never thought about the time I would give to blogging. I started out with the intent of sharing my love of decorating . But soon I was joining in on linky parties. I learned that it was a good way to get your blog out there and meet other bloggers too! At first I was posting almost every day. Sharing new ideas and soon after seeing my photos of my home I knew I wanted to change my home that reflected me and my style. Stay focused..... But one room lead to yet another room. I was focused on my blog and I was able to keep up with parties and my reading. Stay focused..... Before long lots of boards started popping up on facebook. I wanted ... View Post

Evolution Of My Kitchen

September 1, 2013

As many of you know my kitchen is one of my favorite rooms in our home. I thought I would share with you the evolution of my kitchen. Some of you may not have been following along when I first started blogging and never saw the before photos. This is one room that changes often but now has more of a style than it did a few years ago. It was not an ugly kitchen and the cabinets were nice....but they were not me at all! This did not say farmhouse style...but more traditional. Yes this was before I added my ladder too! Soon after I painted my kitchen cabinets and my island. This was the first reveal. My kitchen cabinets were painted using Annie Sloan chalk paint in pure white. I waxed these three times using her clear wax. Let me tell you that using chalk paint will ... View Post

A Chandelier For The Hall

August 30, 2013

As you know I have been slowly changing out my builders selection of light fixtures in my home.I have been searching for a chandelier for my upstairs hallway but I was not finding anything that was my style. It needed to be similar in style as my foyer and landing chandelier. But I did not want them to match. It needed to be different and distinct. I received a email from Lamps.com  They asked me if I would be interested in looking at their large selection of lights and fixtures. If I found something I liked I could share it with you all. I was a bit hesitant as I did not know if they would have anything that would fit my style. I was surprised at the amazing selection you have at Lamps.com Not only do they have a great selection but they have a great range of prices ... View Post

ABOUT THIS BLOG

ABOUT THIS BLOG

Hi I'm Anne.
I started this blog many years ago to share my passion for home decor. My tastes have changed and so did I.
We recently moved to Florida and we are starting a new chapter. My main focus on this blog has shifted. With that I'll be sharing more than home decor.
You'll see makeup tips, skincare, fashion and a little bit of decor as well. You can check out my Youtube channel as well and follow me along. I'll leave all of my older posts up as a reference. But you'll see lots of changes.
